What on earth happened? cartomizer melted to battery???

I took my e-cig apart to charge the battery and it looks like part of the cartomizer ( that holds the ejuice ) has melted into the top of the battery. Has anyone else had this problem? Both the battery and the cartomizer are less than a month old. Why did this happen and can I save the battery? What can I do to keep this from happening again? :(

Cartomizers are made to be a disposable product. That said many people use them for extended periods of time. With the carto 'melting' this sounds like it may have gotten dry and over heated. I would toss that one and start with a new carto.

jacatro - clearomizers have a top mounted atomizer coil; so the base (what connects to the battery) should not get hot at all. Clearomizers cracking at the base is most likely from the stress of the plastic being fitted to the battery connector or certain types of juice will cause clearos to crack. And once again, clearomizers are a type of cartomizer and are made to be more disposable than a separate atomizer.

Is it possible that you had it in a back pack or something and the switch got depressed long enough to melt the carto?

Did you notice a peculiar taste or smell the last time you used it?

Does the battery recharge normally? If so, you can probably save it, but be prepared... you may end up sacrificing another carto, in which case....do not try a third time, just toss the batt.

If you are using a very LR carto, (under 2.0 ohm) that may be the problem. Anything under 2.0 can damage the circuitry on the Ego battery switch.
