I've seen tons of posts about the benefits of vaping over analogs such as sleeping better, clothes, hair, house and vehicle no longer smell like an ashtray, things of that nature.

But I said to myself I said self...I wonder...what other things have people changed in their every day lives since putting down or drastically cutting back on the analogs?

I am really enjoying the "process" that is now in place of smoking. The cleaning, the getting my arsenal ready for the next day, taking my ashtray out of my truck and I'm no longer a gum fiend. It's only been a little over a week, there will be more changes ahead. I'm looking forward to my nails no longer being yellow and yesterday even entertained the thought of a tooth whitening kit.

So let's hear it...what's been good for you?

I can now kiss my wife without her complaining. I don't have to wash hands, brush teeth, stay away from her for an hour for the smoke smell to go away. Don't have to hear her complaints. My daughter isn't nagging me to quit. Don't have to stop at the store every day or two to buy cigs. I'm not outcast into the smoking area. I can vape in my mancave any time I feel like it, don't have to go outside. There's lots more I'm sure.

I've been vaping and still smoking for a week now but I've cut way down on the analogs since starting to vape. I was a 1 to 1.5 PAD and I'm down to 3 to 6 analogs a day. What I've noticed is:

I've lost 6 pounds
I drink A LOT more water than I ever have before
I cut way down on the number of Cokes I drink in a day
I'm breathing A LOT better
I don't cough like I'm trying to expel several extra lungs
My ribs have stopped hurting due to the decrease in coughing
I have more energy
I don't crave junk foods as much as I used to
I feel a lot calmer than before
My appetite has gone down so I'm eating less

I started taking a look at the other products in my life. I'm trying to drink more juice/water and less soda, I drink alot of coffee so I've been buying the less processed and fair trade brands. I've started using sugar in the raw instead of bleached and processed white sugar. I've even started using Tom's of Maine toothpaste and Biotene mouthwash instead of the chemical filled advertised brands.

I don't have to blow ashes off of or out or my keyboard anymore, I got a new mouse-pad because my old one had gray streaks from ashes being rubbed into/off of it, and this one is still black and clean.

I don't get winded going up stairs anymore, and I enjoy taking my dog for longer walks now.

And as stated above I seem to be eating a little less and healthier, and drink a lot more water. I think I've even dropped a few pounds I did notice that my shorts I wore today seemed a bit looser than last time I wore them. ( I haven't stepped on a scale in ages)

My cat likes me better.
I don't spend the first 20 minutes after waking up trying to cough up whatever crap my lungs were drowning in.
My nails are stronger.
My hair is growing twice as fast.
I'm less nervous.
My gums are healing.
I don't burn myself trying to get down to the bottom of rollies.
I am *finally* saving money.
I've put on a pound or two (yes, it's a good thing in my case).
I've found a fantastic community, which has migrated to real life for me.

So many things...

-I no longer have to hide the dark circles under my eyes with concealer, they are completely gone.
-I'm a ringleader, all my smoking friends are now vaping
-I'm a better role model for my patients
-I no longer cough when I laugh
-I can dance for hours
-No more wheezing/coughing in the morning

-I haven't had a sinus headache since I quit analogs for good

This was interesting. I had bad allergies and I was getting chronic pressure headaches, the kind that feel like a toothache in your face. Cutting back even to 1-2 analogs a day didn't cure these headaches but within a week of being analog free, they were completely gone. If I cheat even a little, the sinus problems come back. I think was allergic to cigarettes and didn't know it.

i can breathe!

I'm noticing that my nasal passages are beginning to open back up but I seem to be really stuffy lately but that could literally be a multitude of things.

And as stated above I seem to be eating a little less and healthier, and drink a lot more water.

I'm finding that things I absolutely loved before now have a different less desirable flavor to them. I'm chalking this up to no more analogs and all the changes that come along with that.

My cat likes me better. My gums are healing.

I find this just too funny!

Oh I thought of some more:
-my skin has way better color, especially my face

Hmmm...how long did it take before you noticed this?

My Mary Kay rep will not be pleased that I cut down on the amount of make up that I buy because I no longer need it to cover up the things that smoking damaged. May still be a while away but I'm hoping my skin does get better. I'm also looking forward to not hacking up my lungs when I get to laugh really hard. That was almost embarassing. I also think that analogs have contributed to sinus/allergy issues that I was perhaps subconciously aware of and honestly I'm hoping that I haven't done permanent damage to my nasal passages and stuff. I'm a week out and still stuffy, throat just a little bit sore but my ears and nasal passages still feel "swollen" if that makes any sense at all.

These are all awesome repsonses, keep them coming so I know what else I have to look forward to!

This has lead to a 'natural' decline in OTHER bad habits: 2 liters or more of Diet Coke (more water in it's place) 5 cups of coffee BEFORE i left for work (now one cup in a.m. one late afternoon)...Bad points? My hubby is stinky now...(he's still smoking analogs, so STUBBORN and tried it a couple times, he's the type gotta plant the seed and sow it ya know?) and I am making him wash up before he gets into bed....My closet stinks....LOL....Oh, and one more, I RUSH home, to sit at my computer, read and vape....LOL...is that a bad thing or good thing, not sure! LOL
