correct me if i'm wrong, but to my knowledge most vendors simply buy flavorings/extracts from distributors, then mix the juice.
so most vendors are simply mixing ingredients they buy together.

what vendors make all (or many) of their flavors/extracts in house??

only two i know of right now are Ahlusion and 5 Pawns.....any others??

I believe the people who sell NET tobacco's and teas make their own

no. just because it's a NET tobacco, doesn't mean they make it in house.

take nicotickets H1N1 for example.
H1N1 wasn't available at all for a period of time, because he couldn't find one of the main ingredients called tobacco absolute. it is the NET that he uses for h1n1, and all the vendors HE buys it from were sold out.

oh, ok

I know one that does, Alembic Vapor Labs
"We are a small, boutique e-liquid supplier, specializing in house-extracted NET and, tea extract-flavored vapes, as well as unique fruit flavors."

I think there's a little more to it than that...an artist can buy paint from their distributor (they don't normally grind and mix their own ochre, sienna, or azure) and create a masterpiece. Someone else can get the raw materials and mix them up and create a POS.

I'm not saying that those who extract their own flavorings don't make good juice, but it doesn't mean that those who buy flavors ready made and mix them can't and don't produce exceptional juices.

who said they can't make exceptional juices??
i'm just curious who DOES make it in house. i never said anything like..... "if they buy the flavors/extracts...then is crap juice."

i DO however think the flavors tend to be a little more unique when someone does it in house.

Add Nude Nicotine to the growing list of vendors saying they do their own extractions/flavoring/concentrates.

There are tens of thousands of companies in the US doing extractions/flavoring/concentrates, most are b2b only with only a handful sell to the ecig industry (or less) are willing to sell to the ecig industry. Their trade organization advises against it. I think that is why so many extractions/flavoring/concentrates for the retail market are imported.

Even so, if you read the DIY forum on ECF it can be hard to duplicate/replicate seemingly simple single flavor eliquids. Getting the right balance of flavors, with the right base and the right additives to make it all work is a talent. Taste is also subjective; a strawberry isn't a strawberry changing brands. They are not like baking grandmother's favorite blueberry pie since many manufacturers are working on the molecular level. Adding "1/3 this to 2/3rds that" quickly fall aparts when working with production lines and customers who expect the same thing all the time, despite changes made by manufacturers.

Just my :2c:

I dunno, I guess this:

most vendors simply buy flavorings/extracts from distributors, then mix the juice

combined with a bunch of ??? Sorta made it sound like you thought anyone can throw a juice together, and self-extractions were a sign of better quality. Agreed on the more unique flavors though.

I would think if given a batch of duplicate and excellent quality 'base' (flavoring) the folks who have been doing it a while can make juice that passes the test for most 'vaper's'. My taste can't tell the difference between $22.00 a 15ml bottle and $10.00 a 15ml bottle. I can tell if someone bought 'cooking grade' flavoring added color and the VG/PG and sold me a bill of goods at $4.99 for 30ml "on sale".

The "perfume" smelling / tasting juice simply removes another from my list. I watch for those folks to be reviewed and discovered by 'me' thanks to said reviews. Saves me a lot of dough and that physical act of nearly 'tossin' the cookies'.

Making note of those who meet the OP's bill as I will shortly need to fill up a bit more. Open for new stuff in limited quantities.

Uh, I think pretty much all well-known online vendors.

AVE, Vapor Chef, AiV, Ahlusion, Nicquid, Halo, MBV, MOV, Virgin Vapors, HHV, Indigo, Seduce Juice, Roar, Vaperite, etc. The list can go on and on.

that's not true. mbv doesn't do in house extracts of their flavors. so i'm sure some of those other's don't as well.

Are you talking about actual extraction, extraction? Then of the ones I listed, I think only HHV does that with her Purity tobaccos. I'm sorry, I misunderstood the OP's question. I thought s/he was asking if the vendors who sell liquid actually make the liquid (i.e., mixing flavorings with PG/VG/nic), not actual extraction of flavors.

Sorry, op.

I highly respect Lasttango and hope I didn't spread any of the misinformation. If I did in ignorance, Lasttango, please correct me.

Not at all… and I'm not worthy of much respect ;-)

The thread rubbed me the wrong way initially… I just get these hostile reactions to the connoisseur "mentality." (and that's all me… It's my issue)
I like IWC wristwatches, I buy my dad cigars from Davidoff in NYC… I drive 30miles north to phili's little italy to get my cheeses - I'm not wealthy, but I do appreciate quality, craftsmanship and the genuine article. Guess I am sort of a bourgeoisie bohemian (BoBo) Are you a BOurgeois BOhemian? | From the Observer | The Observer

LOL…

and I wanted vaping to be that way… I really wanted it to be… it's just I don't believe it can make that jump.

anyway, that's not even what the OP was getting at - The OP stated something really really important to me and I want to AFFIRM it…

I too want to to know who uses unique or proprietary flavors…

I am so sick of everyone's mint or strawberry or honey tasting the same.

I avoid certain vendors that use certain flavoring companies… because I am SO SICK of flavourart's caramel or…. etc etc etc
