After giving this event more thought, I think it is not appropriate for vapor people to behave like children, as this "man" was obviously doing.
I think we should just pretend to be really weird. That might discourage kids from joining in on the "fun."
I'm a computer geek so there is no pretense in being weird. In my heart I know I'm just eccentric

Good or bad, it helps get the word out.. some guy will somewhere say, "Oh yeah, I heard of those things, they arrested a guy with one on a plane, must be one of those new smoking terrorists."
ive only been vaping a week. and i have some gum left over from when i started to quit. i keep some of that with me at all times in case i think that i shouldn't be vaping where i'm at.
Sad to say , but the article said that the DOT was going to specifically ban E-cigs , the same as regular cigarettes . And yes , the guy was throwing peanuts , but the situation started , when he refused to stop using , his e-cig . Sorry here , but what a dumb ... . Stealth vape , or use the lav. One of the other members , on this forum , in another post , said it best . If you go looking for trouble , you will probably find it .
Even as an analog smoker, I always brought plenty of snuff onto a plane or train with me. It's nasty and too much makes your nose bleed... and although it's uncommon, I've never had any trouble with the TSA. And it sure beats the spitting you need to do with chewing tobacco or dip.

I'm the same. I still buy the mini lozenges (because it's not obvious I'm using them - nobody I work with knows I was ever a smoker, much less that I am now a vaper). I use them if I am in all day meetings, or anywhere I won't be able to steal away for a stealth. Obviously for me they wouldn't work long term, because I just love the hand to mouth, inhale/exhale. But it does stop me acting like a .... because I am suffering nic withdrawal...

Just to remind everyone - it was a fool that got everyone taking off their shoes. When I worked at a nuclear power plant, we had to start taking our shoes off - that was in the time frame of the shoe guy. It only takes one happening to mess everything up for everyone else.
Take a can of snus with you on the plane. No spitting or bloody noses. I don't normally snus, but I keep some cans in the freezer for situations such as this. I really like vaping better though. C'mon people, stealth vape for God's sake. Small drags and hold it in! Nobody on a plane or in a movie theater wants to see your vapor! And nobody wants to breath your vapor either! It's disgusting to even think about breathing water vapor that's been in someone else's lungs. YUK! Who cares that we don't even know 100% what's in the exhaled vapor. Think about others for a change!

This guy is an immature jerk. The airlines can make any rules they want, and is you don't like it, then dont fly. Or at least be smart enough to go to the bathroom and stealth vape a few times.
I spend a lot of time on airplanes and vape while I do. But I always hit the restroom or hold the hit in long enough to allow no vapor to escape. People get really snarky on planes when they see any kind smoke and I don't blame em.
It really hurts all of us in the vaping community when an idiot decides to be flagrant.
