I understand taste will be different and I'm fine with that. My biggest concern is is the hit. I want to feel like I'm inhaling (and exhaling) something.

I've been looking at products from Cig Easy, but I'm open to suggestions. Ease of use and convenience are other important factors.

If it matters, I'm a pack a day "ultralight" smoker.

As far as smoothness/feel of the draw, I love my Ego. The smaller 510 and several of the cartos I tried were much too "airy" almost like sucking through a straw.

For TH and lung feel a lot will be dependent on the flavor and pg/vg mix you choose. Menthol flavors tend to give a better TH for me and just got my first LR cartomizers which supply a much warmer/more realistic vapor IMHO.

I'm still really new here and everyone has their own "sweet spot" so expect lots of different responses.

lots of KR808D-1 model cartomizers have air flow notches at the top to give an easy draw. as far as the mixture and how much you'll feel the vapor hit in your lungs and throat, thats all down to nicotine strength and your pg/vg mixture. more pg (propylene glycol) = more flavor and heavier throat hit. more vg (vegetable glycerine) = more vapor and more of a "lung hit" but can muffle the flavor a bit. just play around with it a bit to find what you like best. All the choices seem overwhelming when you start out, I know, but just slowly try new things one by one and see if you like them or not. Cheers.

id go with the ego and order the boge low res cartomizers at the same time from liberty flights. For the money ,its hard to beat. Find your favorite eliquid with time. Alot of people get liquid from backwoods brew. Id try his hunters blend, marl, or virginia. If thats not tobacco-ish enough for you, try the exotic tobacco from vapor talk... Hope this helps

I think the tightness of the draw has a lot to do with throat hit. My first PV had a rather tight draw and thinking an airier hit would be more like puffing a cig, I started using genuine Joye cartos on an 808 XL batt. The draw was much lighter but I found that the throat hit was lighter too. Now it kind of depends on the juice I'm vaping as to which PV I want to use.

In my opinion the V4L XL KR808D-1 Vapor King is the best...the most like smoking a real cigarette in feel and draw. I like the manual and pushing a button doesn't even come into the equation for me. I have the Ego and Lux but to me this feels the most like smoking. The only way to get more nicotine is to use higher nicotine. My happiness level right now is high...36mg...I smoked 2-3 packs of cigs a day for 45 years.

901 with a cart reminds me of a menthol ultra light.

I had some of the same concerns you did when converting over to electronic cigarettes. I have found that using the Joye 510 with cartomizers and Johnson Creek's Red Oak line of Liquid has provided me with a sensation very similiar to smoking.

I have seen many "mods" (box mods, giant sticks, and all other matter of wierd contraptions) that can produce enough vapor to fill a concert hall, but the size and shape was no where close to a cigarette so I knew my body and mind wasnt going to fall for it.

I tried a locally bought e-cigarette (cant remeber the brand) that didnt produce much vapor or throat hit and locally purchased liquid that tasted like mop and glow. I started doing some research and found that often times the liquids from asia have almost no oversite on thier ingredients. While doing the research I also found out about a company called "Blu-cigs" who used the johnson creek smoke juice in their cartridges.

The blu-cigs were kind of neat beacuse they came in a rather nifty set-up with a charger that resebled a cigarette pack and a lot of hype on line. Well I had nothing but trouble with the shipping from blu-cigs and found that the vapor production was lacking. Also since the batteries were automatic they would often times activate in my pocket or in the cubby on my truck as the batteries thought the rattling of the box on plastic was me trying to inhale, thus when ever I wasnt at home sitting on the couch the blu-cigs often times werent working and I would get frustrated and just go buy a pack of marb. lights. I am not saying the product is a bad product but my experience with it was not great.

Finally I found the Joye 510 (also has a charger which looks like a pack of cigarettes) and I havent looked back. From the first time I took a hit of my joye I have been sorry for wasting my time with anything else.

Last night I tried using cartomizers on my Joye for the first time and I feel now that I have a set up that replicates an anolog cigarette very closely. The cartomizers are a little bit shorter than the attomizer and cartidge set up bringing the overall length closer to that of a regular cigarette as well.

The first time I put on the cartomizer on a new battery and began to take some hits I almost instantly got a nictotine high like I was a little kid smoking a cigarette for the first time. I dont have enough info yet to know whether the cartomizer set up will cost me more or less money in the long run but right now I kind of feel like I dont care.

I am not sure if you have allready decided on your set up but that is my 2 cents from someone like you who isnt really a veteran and hasnt gotten into all the box mods yet. Like you I wanted something that looked and felt like a ciagrette, would work outside, was durable, and had the ablilty to fool my body and brain into thinking I was smoking a good ole' fashioned cigarette.

Thanks. I could live with an e-cig the size of a 100 cigarette or perhaps even a mini cigar. Also, I'm wondering if I get a smaller unit if I should get a charging case (I don't want to run out of power when I'm out).

So far, I'm looking at Joye, the Cig Easy, and the Vapor King.

I would highly recomend a charging case, I have seent that almost all brands have a charging case available. It is important to have a charged battery available espicially in the begining stages of converting to vaping instead of smoking. Not only will you always have a charged battery on hand but most charging cases provided storage for for attomizer, catridges or cartomizers. So just like an ole' fasioned cigarette everything you need is in one place and on hand, it makes it a lot easier to take your PV with you

If simulation of a regular cig is truely what you seek I have to say that the cartomizers by GreenCig in the Western flavor are truely about as close to a real cig i have ever tasted. They produce a vapor that is unique from everything i have ever used. It actually lingers in the room like smoke! I have even had people ask what the flavor is because the vapor even has a nice smell in the room. No other ecig i have used can come close to this. The biggest problem i have with them is cost. They are not cheap and even though they can be refilled using the "condom" method pretty easily, no eliquid i ever refilled them with produced the same smokey flavor or lingered like the original. I don't really care for their batteries though as they have little venting and the draw is kind of stiff. They do fit a standard kr808-d battery and since that batt has some connection vents they vape well on one. If you haven't tried one then do, IMHO they set the standard for being as close to a real smoke as anything i have seen. I think NHaler sells the carts BTW.

Thanks Reggae, I will deffinatley try that. I by no means think that my Joye is the only great product out there and I am more than willing to try anything. I just wanted to share my experiences in converting to vaping, and how I found it very important to replicate all aspects of smoking a conventional cigarette as closely as possibly.

Look forward to talking to you more.

I was a 1.5 PAD ultralights smoker and my top favorites were really thin Capri Ultralights. The last year I was smoking Pall Mall Orange instead because I could not longer afford $60+ per carton for the Capris. I was a leisurely dragger and savored them, not someone who liked big hot drags.

I like my M401 and M402 (manuals). I have to mess with the tiny carts quite a bit (and that requires pushing the inner cart up with a straightened paperclip, getting the fill and stuffing position right etc). And I switch the stuffing to blue foam to get better wicking. But for me it has a slightly tight drag and feels like a cigarette. It does not give a big TH but it's enough for me. For me it's the closest to those slim Ultralights I favored. I'm using 18mg Backwoods Brew Casablanca (70PG/30VG).

I tried a KR808D-1 and carto and the drag seemed loose to me and hot on my lips (it was a V4L premium carto). I expect I'll like a V4L Coolcart (same as Boge carto?) better but I haven't tried one yet. KR8 puts out more vapor than my M401.

Last night I tried a DSE901 atty and drip tip (on my KR8 battery because it fits right on) and that was a nice smooth atty w/ lots of vapor but I don't have a DE901 cart to try on it.

The most important thing is staying off cigs. Everyone is very different and our habits were very personalized. I don't try and sell anyone on anything specifically, just give a little insight into what i found their unique qualities to be. Try as many different models, flavors, etc. to find what makes vaping comfortable for you. In the end, it's not just the money we may save. I have several friends that i tried to get to change over to vaping but they never really experimented until they found their magic formula and went back to cigs.
