I'm using a nickel build in one of my Derringers and it's working great. No issues with the leads getting clipped by the screws. I had dual coils going in it but I accidentally cut one of the coils while I was cutting off the excess wire (doh!) so I left it single coil. Fantastic vape IMO.

That is the last atomizer I have left in my arsenal that hasn't been converted to nickel yet. Definitely 2nd this atty as well.

2 post RDA's are the best for Ni coils. The Magma is 2 post, but the air flow makes it not ideal. I use the Holmes V2 and it works great with Ni, but it has a flaw that can (not always) cause it to leak into the air flow base. With the Holmes I can easily get 14 wraps (spaced) of 26g nickel in there and the vape is fantastic at 40 watts. The V3 is suppose to be coming soon that resolves the current issue.

The Dotmod Petri RDA is also good, but expensive at $100.

I couldn't edit the picture in the post above, but here is my Holmes with a 12 wrap 26g Ni coil. I have since added a couple wraps.

Got my Petri RDA yesterday, going back today. You can read my rant here if you are interested as to why.

With the Petri fail, it got me looking around again and I came across the Hobo v3, which looks promising. Once I make sure the refund for my Petri goes through I may pick this one up.

The Velocity RDA looks like it might be good as well. Four post holes, in a two post design. Not sure about the airflow though.

Third-ed (or fourthed?) for the Magma. A great, stable TC RDA. I have two now (clones). Work great with all kinds of wire - plenty of room for long spaced Ni200 coils, though I prefer shorter contact/micro Titanium/Stainless steel coils now as longer spaced coils inevitably only get partially covered by the airhole(s).

As Vooper said they're not a cloud tank, their thing is flavour - the air coming immediately under the coil makes flavour great, and also helps reduce leaking. Nice big juice well as well.

The feature a no-o-ring design. This is great for the top cap, which unscrews easily - never getting stuck or loose from o-ring changes. it's less good for the airflow control ring because it just spins freely, meaning it often slips out of position. It gets held in place by the top cap but inevitably when you remove the top cap it's likely to move and you need to check its position, and hold it, while screwing the top cap on.

Some people complain that you have to remove the top cap to fill but as long as you drape some wick over the tops of the screws, I find you can fill easily just by removing the drip tip and dripping through the drip tip hole.

One downside is the wire holes in the posts aren't super large - I've had trouble doing dual coils both of twisted wire, in the past. Single coil of twisted wire is fine.

I'm not sure what their genuine cost is but as clones (for $12 from FastTech) they're a no-brainer to try at least one, in my view. Simple, effective, reliable, flavourful. Mine have been my go-to , day-to-day RDA for a while. If I want to quickly try out a new juice or a new build, I throw it in a Magma.

My second choice is the Lancia - great airflow system allowing up to four fully open air holes down to one very slightly open. Raised airhole "posts" to minimise juice leaking. Large tank-like enclosure, both in glass and stainless steel, can hold a lot of juice. Nice design. Three posts. Decent flavour - again, airflow coming up under the coil.

Working great with TC so far for me, the grub screws hold wires firmly. Again there is plenty of horizontal space for long spaced Ni200 coils. Single, dual or theoretically even quad coils if you want (not quad for TC ;) ) Nice big wire holes in the posts, bigger than the Magma.

Downsides, at least on my clone, are that the top cap and the main body are both very tight around the o-rings, making them really hard to get in position. I had to lubricate the o-rings with a couple of drops of juice. Once that's done they're much better.

Another downside is the airflow management is a bit fiddly because it comes with something like 16 different metal posts, to provide the interchangeable airflow options in four different airholes (two per side). So you need to keep those safe. I think there's four of each kind so there are usually some spares (you're unlikely to need four of one kind at one time) but they're easy to drop and lose.

I only started using my Lancia (clone) a few days ago but I've used it every day since then and I really like it. I think the Magma will still be my first go-to RDA for its simplicity, but I'm liking the Lancia more and more. I'm vaping on it right now in fact (with a funky green replacement glass tank section I got from FastTech.)

Magma is good for nickel builds because it's really easy to build on. derringer is good too.

This.

With countless different RDA designs flooding the market, imo it's kinda surprising there simply isn't any real similar 2 post and cake to build options yet. Preferably with more airflow. Seems like a no-brainer to me over making 3-4 post cloud chasing atty # 734

Been looking at the Manta V2 clone the past couple of days.
