I've been having good luck with dual 3mm 28awg 10 wrap coils on the mutation x v4 on my ipv4
I have a custom sx350J 60w hopefully coming to me by the end of this month. Looking forward to throwing on an extra coil on this thing, or the V2 for that matter. But as is still enjoying it pretty well as I love bottom airflow from this and the Magma.

I agree, it's so much better than a magma. Very versatile and easy to drip on

I do like to be able to ramp it up to 50 joules and open up the sides a bit to throw clouds as well.

Eh I know but the Magma serves its purpose greatly when I want that extra flavor in my puff and its going to be in my rotation as a flavor taster for sure. Always have a heart for that guy but not ideal for dual or for clouds that is for certain.

So it's better for a single coil?
Yes most likely, not very much real estate for coils. Although I don't dual coil any of my atomizers as I dont prefer it on my dna40 devices.

But I will try a dual coil build on the J chip mod once it comes in. Well on the Mutation I mean.

Which is better as single coil? The Mutation or the Magma?

I've found the Magma is fine for dual as long as the wire isn't too thick/twisted - then there's problems getting both wires through both posts. But in terms of placing the coil, it's as easy to do two as it is one because they both have their own shelf, opposite each other.

I've been thinking of drilling out my post holes to make it a bit better for dual twisted coils. But at the moment I'm just using single coils as that's easier for reliable TC anyway.

Only thing that I don't like about the v4 is that you can't run with one side blocked off. The rubber stopper for the bottom airflow is a little ghetto too.
Funny enough didn't know they had them until you said something. Not terribly hard to fit in but was a hassle for sure even lost one already lol. Either way having both bottom airflows doesn't bug me in the slightest. Though managed to fit one in and if it pops out when I refill then I just say screw it, let it be.

But I find myself going towards RDAs that have post designs such as this for longer coils. With that in mind the Velocity RDA is also on my list to get as well. Since it is nice and spacious between the posts for these types of coils. Anywho V4 may not be the best but I do enjoy the mutation line.

I got a Velocity Clone by Tebeco with my Snow Wolf.. I know my local Vape shop has them and I tried them they are a beast in cloud and taste production.. I will let you know when I get my Snow Wolf in and vape it with Nickle build.
Definitely digging the Velocity as well. Huge fan of nice wide spacing for coiling nickel for sure.
