"standard" resistance for a 3.7V device is usually around 2.5-3.0ohms. If you want a warmer vape with a bit more TH and vapor you might want to look at something around the 1.5-2.0ohm range. Boge low resistance (2.0 ohm) come highly recommended by many, and you also have the option of dual coil cartomizers, which I've used and have always found highly agreeable.

Since getting my Riva 1100 I have just being using standard resistance atties but I dont know what resistance standard is. I will be getting my next atties from vapourworld uk and in their range of 'new' atties there are alot of resistance options available so my question is which ones should I be looking at???

Standard resistance = 2.2Ohms. 2.5 Ohms for 5V vaping, 3.5Ohms for 6V vaping and 4.5 - 5.2Ohms for XHV vaping. Anything lower than 2.2 is know as LR.

When the 510 came out at 2.2Ohms it was considered LR for its time as most atties clocked in at 3 -3.3Ohms, some has high as 3.5Ohms.

A general rule of thumb is this:

Keep the wattage between 9 and 13. To calculate wattage, multiply the voltage by itself (square it) and then divide it by the resistance (ohms). That number is the wattage generated by a set up. Like I said, most folks like it between 9 and 13. Hope that helps.

9-13 is kinda on the high (hot side) a better range is 6-9W. Most seasoned vapers find themselves around there and/or 4.2-4.7V. <----- that is what VV and VW has taught us :)

*shrugs* I guess everyone I know likes it in the hot side then......I don't know one person who has vaped over 6 months who likes it under 8. J/S

There tends to be a sweet spot right around that area. Any lower and the flavour and TH can be a little on the weak side; any higher and you might get a burnt taste, or the juice might start tasting a little overdone. But it's entirely dependent upon the juice and the attachment you're using, too. However, somewhere between 6-10W is right around where most juices taste best, at least from my experience.
