Hey everyone, just started vaping a month ago and haven't smoked since. I started with an ego then moved to a vv style ego by kanger tech with an evod tank. When I first replace the coil thing in the tank and the pv is fully charged I feel like I get good hits for like the first 1/2 day and then they slowly dwindle down until I replace the coil again. And that my pv has a mind of its own , ill get harsh dry hits occasionally for like ten minutes and then it'll go away and sometimes it feels like I can't get any throat hit I alwys make sure the tank is full and have been replacing the coils every 3-4 days or so . I'm looking in the next few weeks to get a better setup, something that gives reliable hits and a tank that doesnt need to be have the coil constantly changed all for less than $100 if that's possible. I don't know crap about any of this stuff but it seems like the vamo v5 series are the next stepup without breaking the bank , I like the idea of a mech mod but have absolutely no understanding of ohm watts or any of that and don't wanna have to worry about the batterys exploding on me as I have a 2 year old son. A nd I have No idea what kind of tank to get that's gonna give good reliable vape? Or would a better tank be a possible solution to use with my vv ego? I don't have lots of money to spend and my wife will kill me for spending a bunch as she doesnt understand it since she quit cold turkey.also are there any cheaper us vendors than local shops, It seems like a lot of.people buy from fastech but I'm not into waiting forever after I order something to get it? I've looked on eBay but don't know how to decipher out the crap. Sorry for the drawn out post and thanks

I would opt for an MVP2 over a Vamo myself. You can get those for 40 bucks. If that's too big, or you prefer the form factor of ego batteries, the Itaste VV3 is basically a miniature MVP2. My buddy just stepped up from an ego to a VV3 and he loves it with his mini Protank. You could do a VV3 and a Kanger aerotank mini and you would have a really nice setup. Maybe a little long though, but nice, nonetheless.

MVP2 with the Kanger aerotank mega wouldn't be a bad choice either. My other friend has an aerotank mega and I'm a little jealous. Which is impressive because I use drippers and genesis atomizers and usually blow massive clouds with impressive flavor

Hey Michael, I don't use Evods, but I have used other clearos in the past and they all need to be cleaned regularly to keep them happy. Actually, every atomizer does. Here's a ECF thread about the Evod. You can rinse the heads, but IMO the only way to really get them clean is to learn how to dry burn them. It doesn't take long and it really lengthens the amount of juice you can put through them. I've had Vivi Nova heads last me a couple of months.

I didn't check out everything in that thread. If the info is not good enough, Google 'dry burn evod' and you'll find a whole lot more on it. Also, what you learn from this exercise will stand you in good stead with all the attys you'll ever buy in future.

Michael, the best way to get you killer quality vapes at a decent price (in my opinion) is to get a nice Sentinel M16 clone (20 bucks) which is a great mech mod, and then get a kayfun lite plus clone (which has the adjustable airflow for 30 bucks). The kayfun is a tank that produces huge amounts of vapor and holds a decent amount of juice, and when the coil goes you simply get some kanthal wire and make a new one (tons of videos on how to do this. Its easy). Kanthal is like 3 bucks for 25 feet which is like a year of coils (if you can stop yourself from constantly trying to make new ones. It gets fun after you get the hang of it lol). If you want some good sources who you can get some of these things from for great prices, PM me. I have this setup currently and its one of the best ive had. It made me put my Provari to the side for about 6 months now.

Michael if your not comfortable with learning how to do the coil builds, then I would suggest the Vamo package that comes with 3 batteries, a charger, and a tank for 50 bucks on ebay (great reliable sellers on there I have recently found). And the same seller sells a 10 pack of the replacement coils for that exact tank in the kit for 11 bucks. Each coil on those will last you 1 to 2 or maybe even 3 months depending on how heavy a vapor you are. But I got that setup for my bro and he loves it.

Nautiboy1279 - I have no probs learning how to build coils just have never seen it or heard of it till recently. I'm gonna do some googling tonight and see what I can find.and thanks for the vamo kit idea. The price is great do you know what brand / type of batteries and charger it comes with? I keep reading about not scimpin there so I just wanna make sure the quality is good. I havnt figured out how to pm on my phone or I would've shot ya a message.

And the dry burn worked great and was easy to do. Any ideas on how many times you can do it before tossing them?

Once again thanks and keep any suggestions coming

Coil building is WORTH it. You can use the knowledge to rebuild coil heads within various brand tanks, or just use it to build RDAs/RBAs which you can use on a vv/pv or even a mech mod. I personally love the mech mod the best. Just know the Amp limit of the battery you have and use ohms law calculator app to figure out whats the lowest ohm you can build your coil at without overloading your battery. Its MUCH cheaper than buying replacement coil heads and or attys/cartos or whatever you use. One roll is around 5 bucks depending on the guage, and that will last you forever.

Back to the Vamo kit I was telling you about. I am not sure exactly sure of the brand of the charger. But most chargers that 'come' with units are not too great and do wind up trickle charging them when left on the charger when the battery full indicator light is on. This will reduce the longevity of the battery. If you want a 'quality' charger I would suggest a 5 stage pila charger you can get at pro vape. Its been the best charger I have used in the past 5 years. My brothers Vamo setup had a charger similar to a Trustfire which is the same kit as explained below.

The Vamo Kit includes (this is just a copy from the page):

What is included
One (1) VAMO V5 Mechanical MOD
One (1) Dual Battery Charger
Two (2) 18650 lithium Ion 2200mAh 3.7v rechargeable batteries
One (1) Extension tube
One (1) Instruction manual
One (1) GS-H5 2.4 ohm rebuild-able Clearomizer (I recommend keeping the voltage between 3.2 and 4.5 volts because of the 2.4 ohm resistance, a higher voltage will burn out the coil head faster)

*NOTE: I am running out of black and clear on the GS-H5 clearomizers, another color maybe substituted instead of black and clear.

Limited Time: BONUS One (1) 18650 2200 mAh 3.7 volt battery included!

Yes the ohm meter is nice. The only thing I dont like about the vamo is the 33.33hz chip and the quality of it. Its VERY light and almost fragile feeling. But as long as you take care of it, your in good shape. I also much rather use units that vape with a 300hz chip. Much nicer vape without a doubt. The ohm meter is definitely nice, but will still only allow a certain ohm coil to actually be vaped. Sub ohm vaping is def not for the Vamo. And the best vapes I have had were at around .45. I don't even think the vamo can handle a .8. But you can still get great vapes out of it bumping up the wattage/volts with a nice 1.3ohm coil at around 4.2 volts which gives you one of the nicer vapes you can get with a limited VV. Really can't go wrong for the money with the Vamo and a Nautilus or even a Aspire BDC which is only like 11 bucks on NewEgg.

So will a vamo or MVP and new tank be a considerable difference in amount and quality of vape over my vv ego? I want this next upgrade to be considerably better over what I got.
YES. MVP2 has something like an 800hz chip, much smoother vape. Ever hear of the rattlesnake affect? That's a vamo thing. Its just alternating electricity and no electricity at a slower rate than certain other devices. MVP2 has a great chip in it that is often compared to the Provari. Just my 2 cents. battery life is incredible, and you can charge your phone with it as well if needed. They're a nice device with slick looks. Vamo's are pretty cool looking too though

Somewhere out there
A vamo is a decent choice (if you like the jedi lightsaber look), but most of the kits include batteries (ICR chemistry) that should be avoided. Get just the Vamo and a pair of good IMR batteries (Sony, AW, efest) from a reputable seller, as well as a good charger.

Overall, I think the MVP 2 is a better way to start out, just plug it in to a micro USB to charge and then off you go, no muss, no fuss. I might be biased though, as I like the box shape more than the long tube types.
