I ordered my first bottles of juice from a supplier that is mentioned quite often here. Ordered it on Tuesday and received it today. Wow very fast shipping. Anyhow, I then go and check my Credit Card Transactions (As I do just about everyday) and see that they have charged me twice for 1 order. I have sent them 3 emails today asking them to please check into this and explain why I was charged twice. I have not gotten a reply from any of the emails and there is no phone number on their web site to contact them. So I guess I just need to know what I should do. Has anyone else on here had this happen.

Thanks,

John

Since you're not getting any replies from the company you ordered from, contact your credit card company as soon as possible. Some credit card companies have a time limit on making claims such as yours. If you go past that time frame, you could end up paying the double charge or if your cc company looks into it, they could charge you a fee, which could end up being more than what you were overcharged for. Never wait when it comes to credit card companies!!!

Are they pending or processed? My guess is that when the bank approves the transaction one will go away. Many times when ordering over the internet when you click submit they will "pre authorize" your card for the amount of the payment. Then the actual authorization occurs. It usually takes three days for pending transactions to become "official".

Hope that helps. I have been through this a few times and one always goes away.

I don't think it is pending. It shows as a transaction and has been deducted as a debit. I will go in and talk to them tomorrow and see what they say. I don't understand why the company will not reply to my emails. The transaction was for under 20.00. by charging me twice they may make an additional 20.00 from me. but since I really like the juice and the fast shipping they could have made hundreds but not unless this is corrected. I will buy my juice elsewhere.

This happened to me once but with an AIRLINE TICKET lol
The website jsut throws a wobbly and doesnt refresh properly - the instinct is to hit enter again - HUGE mistake, never do that, thats how I got charged twice and we arent talking 20 bucks either lol.
If the company have a LIVECHAT option use that - it works MUCH faster if they are busy and dont get to emails as quickly as you hoped.
When I finally got hold of a person at the airline company they were really sorry and refunded right away - but email is often not a priority - livechat options are.

I work for a bank, so my advice, file a dispute. If the items are on "hold" that means one could drop off. If they have "posted", then you have a legitimate claim. I always advise my customers to start a dispute and contact the company. Likely it's an honest mistake, few reputable companies will try to rip you off. And if you contact them, they may give you something else for the inconvenience, like free shipping on your next order. But if you don't dispute it within 60 days, all bets are off. You don't want to end up eating the cost of something you didn't get. It is very common to see a duplicate "hold" for many reasons. The authorization system could have timed out, they could have done an upfront test to see if you were good for the money before shipping and then re-authorized when the items shipped, human error, anything. Most holds will only stay on for 3 business days, after that they expire and disappear as if they never happened. Sometimes a hold will drop off then reappear as a charge several days later. It's fluky. Protect yourself. And keep your shipping receipts, email receipts, any documentation to prove what you really ordered until all is clear on your account. Also, should this cause any overdraft/nsf fees, you are not responsible for them.

thanks to everyone for the wonderful advice. I did finally get an email from the company at 11:30 last night saying that it was a mistake on their end and that they will reverse the charge. But It will take up to 4 business days for it to appear on my cedit card. Funny, It didn't take 4 business days for the double charge to show up.......lol....anyway I will wait and see if it goes away in 4 business days.

Thanks again.
