vaping has become my new addiction.... Been vaping for a little while now started with the Atlantis v1 and a 50w box mod.... Recently purchased the kanger Subtank mini v2 black edition and don't get me wrong I love it but my dilemma is I gave my old set up to a friend of mine to get him away from cigs (good karma right? :p) so now I want to in the near future purchase a secondary set up to have 2 setups on hand.... Not looking to spend crazy money but something in the same price range as my kanger set-up.....

I'm not at this point ready to get into rebuilds so what should I look into my fellow vapers?

What's wrong with another Subox? You're right it's wise to have a backup, but if you like what you have, why change? That said, and if you're using the Kanger at 30 watts or lower, the Sigelei Mini is nice and not too expensive. It also uses 18650s like your Subox. If 30W isn't enough, Sig's 75W TC is well thought of, but it's a bit pricier. And there is always the iStick 50, if you want to go back to on board batteries. There are other options in your price range, but none I like/trust well enough to recommend.

My first thought was to recommend getting a second Subbox in white. It would use the same coils, battery and you could keep a different flavor in the second tank to change flavors easily.

My second thought was temp control... You're already using a mod that has replaceable batteries so you could look at something like a sig 150 w ($100) which holds 2 18650's (5000 mah) and temp control if you wanted to go that way. They also make smaller units, but they only hold 1 18650. There are dozens of mods to look at.

Good luck in your decisions.

Price isnt really what concerns me I'm really just trying to find something well known and reliable, I like being able to change my own batteries so that's something I'd prefer to stick with and I love the kanger I have but when I bought it the coils were vertical and for some reason kanger resorted back to horizontal coils and won't run good over 30w :( that's really my only complaint at this point...

Kanger is still selling the vertical OCC coils. I don't know if they are in the Subox Mini kit or if you have to purchase them separately.

My :2c::2c:
I'd say invest in a nice mod and get it over with for the most part. With a good box you'll still have the "I want something new" RDA/RTA wise. But having a nice solid mod and not needing to upgrade/replace cheap ones etc.

Learning to build your own coils will also help saving money. A 15$ bag of koh gen do and a 5$ 100ft of wire can make you 200 coils, vs buying coil head packs of 3-5 for 15-20$.

I don't really wanna recommend a tank since there kinda personal preference. All tho.. my zephyrus is the only tank I will pick up now.

I saw the zephyrus when I was scrolling through mt baker vapor. I'm still new to it so I usually get what looks easy because I use mine a ton on the go I drive a lot for work and can't afford to take time to drip away whenever I need a puff. Is the zephyrus a dripper or is it a tank you fill and I actually just build the coil myself? I really just want something that truly brings out the most a flavor has to offer

It's a subohm tank/with a dual coil rebuildable deck included. Closest tank to a dripper imo, massive airflow good flavor. So you can buy coils or build your own on it. Not the greatest top fill method but easy to fill.

I'm sold on that tank after watching that video. I like the fact that I can build my own coils and still have the tank.... Save a good amount of $ not having to buy coils. What mod would you recommend with that tank?

Depends on how much your looking to spend. Here's it on a IPV3 LI VR.

I have both color Subox, and couldn't be happier. I have an IPV4s as my "next step" into nickle and Ti wire. To run that Zephyrus tank, I'd try and IPV or Siggy mod. Heck the Subox could run it as well. And building coils will become your new hobby :) I'm gonna check out that Zephyrus as well.

And good Karma on you for helping a friend quit smoking!!!

Now that yer suddenly into building, why don't you practice on the Subtank's RBA deck first? It's perfectly suited for a beginner... just sayin.:p
Learn something new everyday..... I've got a lot to learn I have always been under the impression that building your own coils meant dripping..... But if I can build my own and have a tank filled for easy use that just makes life much more interesting for what I'm looking for..... Now to figure out how to build and where to get the materials :p

That looks sick! But what I look for in a mod really doesn't have much to do with price it's more the less portability for me, something fairly priced is all I really ask. I don't mind paying for quality. Just don't want something huge, slacks and dress shirt nearly everyday to work so something that won't look like I'm carrying around a cell phone like Gordon gecko in Wall Street 1 haha
