Hey Everyone,

Awesome forum, really good resources on here. Anyways, I'm an analog smoker now, I smoke about a pack a day. Probably about a year I ago got an E-CIG, I don't even remember the brand/name of the product, I just picked it up a local tobacco shop. I liked it a first, I REALLY liked it when I would load up a new cart and the first couple of hits would be strong and full of vapor. Since then, I've obviously gone back to Analog smoking. I just couldn't get enough of that "throat hit" or enough vapor, seems to be a common thing that folks refer to around here. Those are two things I felt I seriously lacked from my first E-CIG, the throat hit and there was just no vapor.

So, after doing some research it seems like there are a lot of new products that are higher voltage and were upgraded for that purpose.

My question is fairly simple, I'm looking for something that will pull big rips that are full a vapor, plenty of throat hit etc. I've read about the Joye EGO and a few others but it's hard to make a decision with all these options. The only other thing I would like to avoid is cart's, I would just rather go for the straight juice.

Can someone recommend to a couple products? Maybe something that is entry level but still has high voltage, vapor volume etc and then maybe something like is like a type of the line product?

Thanks, I would really appreciate some input/help.

I would recommend getting the eGo or the Riva (clone, but just as good) to start with. The flavor, vapor, and throat hit are all dependent on the juice at least, if not moreso. You can get an eGo kit (2 of everything) for $40 and a Riva kit (2 of everything) for $30 at E-Liquid and Electronic Cigarette Shop - Category Listings (Make sure to click the 20% off button top left on the home page.) Then you need to get some good juice. PG gives more throat hit; VG gives more vapor. Many people order 80/20% PG/VG blend.

OK to good throat hit: eGo or Riva 510
Best (TH) throat hit: a good 5 volt model such as the GLV2: Electronic Cigarettes and E-Liquid - Great Lakes Vapor or a good (VV) Variable Volt PV such as the ProVari.

Another advantage to 5 volt or VV PV's is the batteries are not proprietary, only cost about $3 and you can get them at battery stores.

The higher nicotine content also improves TH and for a pack a day smoker I would strongly recommend starting out with 24mg nicotine strength and adjusting up or down if you need to. Get blank carts and refill with e-liquid.

And of course definitely get manual (small button) batteries not auto batteries for better TH and control.

Good luck

PS: Go Mountaineers - always!!

PSS: if you want to try a good 5 volt PV but want to do it for less, I would recommend Ken's Box Mod, 5 volt model. I have one and it works well: http://www.boxmods.net/

If you're not sure what you're looking for, but know you want a good throat hit and lots of vapor, I would also suggest getting a variable voltage mod. You might get a 3.2 volt (like the eGo) and it isn't enough, then try a 5 volt, and it's too much. You can try different atomizers, cartomizers and juices and one or two might be great, but the rest are not enough or too much, too. A variable voltage setup eliminates a lot of that. Instead of buying new equipment to get what you want, you can just turn the voltage up or down to get right to your sweet spot. It's going to be different for everyone, so that's the most cost-effective way, IMO, and saves the experimenting for where it belongs - finding the flavors you like best.

I agree with the eGo. But would add one auto batt. The manuals turn on when I sit down with all the crap I carry in my pocket. Might want to order a mega atty and carts as well as they last longer when driving.

About 90% use manual batteries due to the better performance. Some have on/off switches or finger touch sensors. I wouldn't be too concerned about it activating when you don't want it to.

+1 You may or may not move on to a mod, but this will give you a good place to enjoy the ecig experience while you figure it out, at a modest price, especially compared to most mods.

Thanks for replies everyone.

If I am understanding this right, it seems like the Joy Ego is something that everyone is recommending. After I order it, start vaping etc if I feel the need to move up to a higher voltage then I can pick up a mod for it? Sorry if I sound newbish but there is a lot of information to take in!

Let's gooooo Mountaineers! Really feel like football program is looking up now with the hire of Holgerson. We will be back!

Bball team had a big W against G-Town the other day as well, it's good to be a Mountaineer!

Yes. It is easy and reliable, has a good throat hit and enough battery life that you aren't constantly recharging. You can learn a lot about juice, the basic mechanics of vaping, and what your real preferences are, before you drop $100-$200 on a mod. The $30 Riva kit is hard to beat as a good starting point.

Excuse me, but GO CARDS!! :) Just some friendly Big East smack.
