Micros: 1/16". That's all I roll.
Regular: If you have a drill index lying around (that's one of those fancy sets with all of the sizes, from fractional to letters to numbers), find the drill size that almost exactly fits the wick hole on your RBA. Use a drill bit in that size, or a few thousandths smaller, that is tall enough to stand in the tank and extend past the positive post of your atty. This is assuming you're building a genny. Wrap the coil on the drill bit, slide the bit in the wick hole, and install the coil legs to the posts before removing the drill bit. Super easy, perfect tension, awesome.
If you're talking drippers, I'd say use a drill bit that corresponds with the size of your favorite wick, so that it's easy to get in there, but has enough contact with the coil.
