I think I noticed almost everything that had been mentioned, and remember being just as shocked about it as most of the posters conveyed.

Another interesting and easily the coolest thing I noticed....an increase in my libido. Seriously! :w00t:

So you weren't HardWired till AFTER you started vaping? Gaaa, plz don't ban me mods...

Ditto, except with me it was only 30 years, and a Blu that got me off the cigarettes. WOW! Just amazing that I am a non smoker now for over a whole month! I never imagined it could really happen!

Double ditto, only 40 some years. One day using the Blu and I was off cigarettes. I was amazed. It's been a little over 5 weeks for me.

Surprising how I can smell a smoker walking buy me, and I can't believe I used to smell that bad too. I would pop an altoid and think i was fine. Can't imagine what my clients said under their breath after I left the room!

I've generally been a sporadic smoker for years. I enjoyed smoking now and then but not regularly. Aside from the health issues, I knew it made me stink. But because I did love smoking, I was always really sensitive to the smell of it. When my smoking team mate comes back in from a smoke break, I can smell him from ten feet away.

After one cigarette, I can't stop smelling it on myself even after brushing my teeth and scrubbing my hands. After an evening of smoking, I don't notice it. It's amazing how quickly that happens.

It will soon be 2 years for me. After 3 days not wanting a cigarette any more. After 2 weeks losing the smokers cough and not have to clear my throat of all that phlegm. Not feeling like food is getting caught in my throat while eating. Rediscovering smells again and the taste of food. The doctor telling me that the wheezing in my lungs is clearing up. Just to feel better and healthier.

Let's see...

- I actually do like the taste of tobacco... and I don't like vaping sweet stuff except for a few fruits (mixed with tobacco)

- getting my taste buds back was startling and fun

- why in the world was I ok with spending so much on cigarettes ever? Mind you, that's a big reason for me quitting

- I found my happy place on my second purchase... Prodigy V3, 6 volts, peach tobacco. I expected to spend a lot more time and money dialing in my preference. I did still tweak to try other stuff but I had it right already.

Guess that's more what surprised me about switching to vaping, not just quitting cigarettes.

My biggest surprise: The sheer volume of options out there. I thought ecigs were ecigs, made to look like cigarettes and that was it. Found a vendor site and was all "Oh wow, there's a few out there."

Found ECF and the Post Your Pictures thread....I'm constantly picking my jaw off the floor when I go in there.

Health wise, I knew I'd improve, it's common sense. I was surprised at how much better my mood has changed. I'm undiagnosed "something not right up there" and had major (like a light switch for no good reason) mood swings on a daily basis, now they're very minor and much more easily dealt with.

My biggest surprise was when I worked out what 43 years of smoking had slowly taken away from me. They say you don't miss what you never had and that was true for me, now I know what I was missing, taste, smell, better health all around, and acceptance from others, including my biggest surprise of all, 6 weeks into vaping I was having big trouble with double vision when driving, so I went and had my eyes tested to be told that I no longer needed glasses to drive, my eyes had improved so much in 6 weeks!!!! No one told me that could happen :D

Great stories guys! Love reading this stuff! Seems a common theme is how easy it was for everyoneto lay down the cigs. Been talkin to a buddy of mine at work about my new venture. He's wanted to quit smokin for a while too, but is worried that vaping won't satisfy the craving... Think he's coming around though, maybe I'll forward this thread to him lol!

Now that is exceptionally interesting! This is when I hate being smart enough to realize how dumb I am. I'd love to know what's going on to cause that. Maybe just the high levels of toxins in cigs? Possible reaction to a particular chemical in smoke? Very interesting stuff...

Just had another wonderful surprise in the car today... My (singing) voice is coming back! Was in chorus and band in HS, then played drums in a couple of metal bands in college so music has always been very important to me! The past few years, when I tried to sing, I'd get out of breath, my voice would crack, and I'd have coughing fits in high notes or metal singing... Was able to sing Red Barchetta (Rush) and Walk (Pantera) the whole way through!!! HELLYEAH!!!
