I am surprised by the foods I now like or dont like. For example - tuna. i have always loved tuna. I have eaten a lot of it in my life.
today I took tuna salad for lunch - i was really looking forward to it. but dang if I did not like the way it tasted! It was fresh. It was homemade - it was not bad, just not good.

Another flavor strawberry - i never really appreciated it before. I did not dislike it - I just could take it or leave it. but all of the sudden strawberry tastes wonderful.

Don't know why, but these stories are like sacred texts to me! So personal, yet so poingnant! I love hearing of the less traveled paths others have taken, to find other weary friends on this long road!

A ton of things. How bad my truck, which I smoked in for 5 years, smells to me now. How much time I was dedicating to smoking. How happy I am that I'm not worried that my non-smoking wife isn't being put off by my smoking breath anymore. How adventurous I'm becoming about flavors now, after being dogmatically insistent about smoking the same brand for 20 years. How smooth the transition has gone. Having the urge to vape rather than smoke. Not feeling the repeated shame of failing to stop smoking over and over because I'm sure I'm going to make it this time. The dizzying myriad of equipment and flavor options available. How good Halo Tribecca tastes with a glass of Cabernet. How I no longer feel like a second-class citizen.

I could go on and on.

Join the "Lousy smelling truck club". I bought my truck new in 2005, and at first since it was new I decided not to smoke in it, that lasted about 2 days, then I started and never stopped smoking in it for 7 years. But to be honest, I could smell it when I still smoked, and hated that I was stinking it up! Plus, the light gray headliner has a light brownish tint to it from tar that you can see if you look closely. I hate that.

But oddly, the cig smell in my truck is actually starting to go away now, mainly because I leave the windows open all day long in the summer, otherwise it gets REALLY hot in there and I dont want the black dashboard to crack under the heat, so there is usually a breeze going through it. That seems to be clearing it up.

The thing that surprises me the most is how easy it has been to quit smoking. I tried way back when I was like 17 in the mid 80's, and I'd only been addicted for about a year, and yet is was incredibly difficult back then, so I know it would be difficult right now if I wasnt vaping!

To be honest, I really didnt even plan on quitting when I bought my Ego-T kit, as I just wanted to check it out and maybe be able to stop having to go outdoors every half hour to smoke, as I could vape indoors, but next thing you know, I decide to quit. But my Mom was also bugging me about quitting.

What surprised me more than ANYTHING is just how EASY it was to kick the smoking habit using an E Cig to do it.

I went in with low expectations but I also REALLY wanted this to work and was ready for a lot of agonizing days ahead. Those agonizing days never seemed to arrive.

I still can't get over how easy it was to give those cigarettes up. After 35 years I just "stopped" smoking in a day.

Oh I could smell it before, I just didn't mind it as much. Now, as my sense of smell is returning, it's just a wall of stench that hits me every morning. I've considered using a deionizer to get that smell out, but oddly, I think it's motivating me to stick with vaping. I ikeep my USB pass through in the truck all the time now. Instead of grabbing a pack of smokes on my way out the door every morning, I grab a fresh cartomizer.

Like lotsoffish said, the ease with which I made the switch and thanks to a disposable Blu cig at that! Literally walked downstairs, went to the gas station, threw the half smoked pack of Marlboros in the trash and never looked back! That and just how bad I must've smelled. Wasn't until I stepped into an elevator with a former smoking buddy and I almost gagged from the smell of cigs on him. I gave up right before my second baby girl was born - feel horrible that that was what my eldest smelled the first time I put her on my chest...

Just had another wonderful surprise in the car today... My (singing) voice is coming back! Was in chorus and band in HS, then played drums in a couple of metal bands in college so music has always been very important to me! The past few years, when I tried to sing, I'd get out of breath, my voice would crack, and I'd have coughing fits in high notes or metal singing... Was able to sing Red Barchetta (Rush) and Walk (Pantera) the whole way through!!! HELLYEAH!!!

Oh yea... definitely noticed this myself... My throat doesn't hurt anymore trying to rock out alongside King Diamond in the car! I mean, not even I can hit the notes that guy can, but still.

Some foods taste way different. I was very disappointed to find that Wendy's is off my list of drive-thru's. I used to love, almost obsessed even, their spicy chicken sandwich. After being off analogs for 2 months I can no longer even stand the smell of them. It's the only food I have found that doesn't taste better now.

P.S.
A1 Sauce still rocks! :D

It does.... but I don't need to drown a good filet in it anymore. I used to not be able to eat any red meat without it. Now I can use a little pepper and garlic butter and I'm all set.

My throat phlegm is gone. I've been smoking malboro menthol for more than 10 years and the phlegm has been with me almost 24/7 all these years. After I start to vape and ditch cig, they left! My vocal chords feels more 'powerful' now. :)

I didn't even realize I had throat phlegm every day all day... until it was gone. How sad is that?

Indeed, it has been a most pleasant surprise to find the kindness, helpfulness and generosity that exists here.

Was surprised by the fact that I could actually breath again. I was also unpleasantly surprised by how nasty cigarettes tasted. I vaped for 2 days when I first started and didn't smoke cigs at all. However, on the 3rd day I noticed half of a cig in my ashtray and decided to smoke it before it got stale. After two puffs I put it down. It was horrible, yuck. Don't plan on going back.
