Well, you might not need bigger than 5ml right away, but as I've settled into some favorite recipes I find myself making some pretty big bottles of them (120ml). I can't imagine tackling that with a 5ml. Might as well invest in a good selection. They're cheap enough.

For the VG, I like to just take the needle off. It's a lot easier that way. Warming it like Vash said would be good also I imagine... I'm lazy though, so I've never actually tried it. :) You'll need a wide-mouth bottle of VG to be able to stick a big syringe down in the bottle though (like the kind you get from Wizard Labs).

I found that I only need them large enough for flavoring & nic. After that, I just fill to the top of bottle with VG and/or PG.

My bottles are usually marked as, for instance 10 ml, but hold closer to 11 or 12 depending on how full you get them. Not a HUGE variation in your flavor percentages, and the ratios would stay the same relative to one another but it might make things tough for new mixers. That said, I've done the same thing plenty of times.

To the OP, get a couple extra 1 ml syringes to save yourself time rinsing them out while you mix, and at least double the number of small (~5 or 10 ml) bottles you think you need. You'll want to be able to test the same recipe with a few different ratios and have them all steeping at the same time/ready to try.

You absolutely need to know how much your bottles hold. However a quick check can be done using a teaspoon where: 1 US tsp = 4.93 ml. You can even add a drop or two to each tsp to get even closer to 5ml
