I just picked up a 3.5 DCT tank for the local vape store and WOW! I started out using stardust type clearomisers, and then to the rebuildable stardusts. Once I got my Vision Spinner, I went with a Kanger T3, and eventually to a Vivi Nova. After picking up a Vamo, the base of the Vivi nova started to leak. That is what prompted me to get a cartomiser tank.
The stardusts were pretty good, but a few times got juice in the mouth, and the some leakage where the tank meets the metal ring. The Kanger T3 was eh, got one with the 3 holes and the draw was way too airy for my tastes. The Nova is a nice clearomiser tank, taste was good, draw was good, but the leak through the treading at the bottom has stopped me from using it for now. Also where drip tip is placed is showing some signs of oxidation or something. Probably have a Nova knock off.
The DCT tank is working like a champ, and seems to give me more taste of the juice. The draw is ok, but kinda louder than on my stardust or nova. Even a little louder than on the Kanger, so no way to steath vape it, lol. Seems to be a winner here.

For those of you who haven't tried a carto tank yet, give it a go. I picked up a generic one, and am very happy with it.
Keep on vapin, y'all :vapor:

I also dont like orally priming the Smok Techs as I just fill the cart after I fill the tank. The video is great but the new and improved with the locking rings can be found labled as U-DCT's on VaporKings but are hella expensive. The 6.0 can be found at several vendors around 10.95. I prefer the locking rings because I am able to screw the tank down without it eternally spinning on top of the Provari.
Some of the vendors are selling the carts with a larger punch as some are still using the smaller. I have been ordering the blanks in bulk(hoosier) and punching my own, so that I can adjust the hole or holes based on the thickness of my juice.
I have read many comments about flooding issues but I have once flooded them after puffing because occaisionally I will just give the tank a primer puff(watching the bubbles rise for fun).
I also find that I can use the tanks in rotation for 10 days - 2 weeks and then boil them and reuse them for additional savings.

GL Everyone and enjoy!

I agree. I have my own personal theory about cartotanks providing more taste than wicked delivery devices:

With a clearo or clearotank (like a Vivi Nova), the flavor (juice) is carried to the heating coil only by skinny silica wicks. A very small surface area.

With a cartotank, the heating coil is totally surrounded by pollyfil fiber moist with juice, a much larger surface area. Makes sense that the delivery device that has the larger surface area will bring more juice to the heating coil and providing more flavor.

I ran a Viva Nova 3.5 tank on my Vamo when I first started, then I saw an AGA-T. The rest is history. Unfortunately, I have several juices that I like to vape, and the AGA is permanently dedicated to Pluid. That being said, I do have another one in the mail. The headache of using stainless mesh is offset by the taste and vapor...when it works. Right now I'm using silica wicking while I get through the learning process.

I gave my backup Vamo to my cousin, and broke mine a week later trying to fix a pesky button. (the button issue was my own fault from dropping it multiple times) So...I'll be ordering two more Vamos, which will give me enough extension tubes to make a Vamo Baton! I bought a Provari from the classies to get me by until they come in. It's a poor substitute, I know.;)

I do recommend the AGA-T to vamo owners. Much like the Z Atty Pro for Provari's, the AGA looks as though it was designed just for the Stainless Steel Vamo. In case you are wondering what drip tip looks best with the AGA-T, it is the Stainless Steel hourglass shape. IBTanked also makes pyrex replacement glass for the AGA-T and hopefully they don't discontinue it now that the T Plus comes with glass. It is in every way superior glass.

I tried DCT's early on, but went CE2 quickly after, and haven't looked back. I could never get it to work correctly (flooding, burning, mess, etc). Tried slotting, punching, punching more. Nothing ever seemed to be right. I love the Nova 3.5 and mini (have only had 1 minor leak from a head not screwed in tight), but am intrigued by the AGA-T.

I am almost exclusively using the agr carto tanks. These tanks are killer. There is an adaptor you put in it that your carto screws into, locking it into place. Also has a fill screw on the top cap.
It looks beautiful as well, and the build quality is excellent.
Hope you find something you really like. Good luck !

If you do get the AGA-T or the AGA-T Plus, spare yourself weeks of problems by sacrificing a click type pen by robbing it of it's spring, buying two 6 cent washers and using a third of the spring and the two washers on the positive post to make a spring loaded quick release that will also take care of top wire hot spots.

I just tried my first ever DCT, got into a mess at first, juice every where.
Started again with a new carto, set it all up again, and this time it worked, BUT the vapour produced was nothing like I get from a Vivi Nova.
Also the taste wasn't as good.
Waste of money on the DCTs, I will stick to my Vivis...

I figured I would add a picture for the visually inspired among you.

If you like your VIVI like I do get yourself and iClear 30. Holy flavor and vapor producer! This thing is awesome and the pull I take from it is half or less of my vivi's.

Any pics or links to how to go about this? I watched a few vids on building the coil, etc, but haven't messed with RBA's at all. I keep seeing comments about hot spots, and that is really the only thing holding me back. I don't mind fiddling if it's going to be awesome, but it seems like there are a ton of variables...Just started rebuilding my Vivi's with moderate success...is there anywhere to get pre-oxidized/rolled mesh? Any thoughts on the AGA Hydra? A little cheaper, and has slightly better reviews...

On a Vamo.. Stay away from those "locking Dual Coil Tanks"... that lock ring snugs up tight against the top of the Vamo and the draw is like hitting a triple thick milk shake. Bad news...

My tank of choice, on the Vamo, is the Sidewinder PolyPro from Valley View Vapes. Never had one leak, or a carto slip out. And that side fill hole makes tank refills fast and easy.

I initially used Vivi Novas but grew to dislike their inconsistency and overall problems with coil wick systems (leaking through the head down the atomizer, burnt hits etc). I'm using a Triple V carto tank now.

I made a bit of a mistake buying the triple V though. I do like it and it gives a better overall vape experience than the Vivi Novas but, damn, the fill hole is too small to use unless you use a syringe and I discovered I can fill it fine without using the fill hole anyways. So now I'm reminded of that every time I look at the gold screw in the fill hole. I should have ordered one without a screw hole. I don't need the tool I ordered to replace the cartomizers either. Oh well. Lesson learned, money wasted.

I went into this in greater detail in this thread, http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/378537-flame-genesis.html if you find yourself running into problems, you can use regular silica or cotton wick without any hassle.

Edit: if I remember correctly the Hydra is the exact same thing as the Tiamat but with a stainless steel tank. As far as I know, there is no one who sells pre-rolled wick.

Thanks PLANofMAN...I did find that the Hydra is just that, and think I'm going to give it a go on my next order. I also found several places that do sell pre-done mesh (just don't know if it's also pre-oxidized). Thanks for the link, I'll check it out!

For anyone else that's following this, I do love my Vivi's (mini and full), but I don't like that with certain juices (my DIY menthol RY4 particularly) that I have a freshly cleaned head and halfway through the tank I start getting a burnt taste. Very frustrating to have to clean the head on every tank-full. I'm assuming it has something to do with the juice, but it's not consistent enough for me. Even does it on my menthol (with a splash of peppermint) liquid, which is totally clear.
