I hope this is the right place to post about the eCab. I am have an issue; any help would be very much appreciated.

I un-boxed my Joyetech eCab about 2 or 3 hours ago and I am wondering what to do with it; possibly smash it with a hammer???

I fully charged the 10440 batteries, filled a tank with 70/30 (PG/VG) and attempted to start to break in the atty. Nothing is happening, well nothing except the ring on the bottom of the cone (where the cone mates with the battery housing) is getting blistering hot.

I did notice that if I screw the cone on (without tank or atty) and try to draw through the top of the cone it is extremely stiff. I am getting almost zero airflow through this eCab both fully assembled and with just to cone attached.

Is this normal?? If I had to guess I would attribute the overheating issue to the lack of airflow...

I don't tinkering and would like a give this thing a honest chance before claiming DOA.

Any ideas? Thanks!

***Edit
Sorry for the typos, haha. I really don't *mind tinkering, and "I am have an issue".... Errrrr But yeah I am still having an issue with airflow.

SO seriously no one can comment here??

I was expecting to see something... anything. Like, "Yeah man, the eCab is just like eGo T or eGo C, there should be airflow through the cone" or "No dude, you're doing it wrong".

This is my first atty/tank system but I don't really see how it is suppose to work at all without airflow through the base of the cone.

There is airflow. Looking at my eCab, I see 2 little notches in the gold trim ring at the base of the cone. That is your airflow.

Are you using hard or soft caps on your tank? Did you pre-punch the hole or are you letting the spike do it? If you didn't pre-punch, maybe you aren't pressing the tank in hard enough to punch the hole. If using the hard caps, it takes quite a bit of force and you'll hear a "click". The eCab is just an eGo-C in a smaller form factor, works exactly the same. If fact, eGo-C type-A tank cartridges and atomizer heads work just fine on the eCab.

If the hole punching isn't your problem, maybe search ECF for some older eGo-C troubleshooting tips and see if any help.

@TEKWRX - Thanks for the post. You answered my question in two sentences. Yeah there is no airflow through the cone; could prob fix this in with a 3/32nth bit in like 5 mins but the form factor is too nice... Yeah I've seen the two cut-outs in the lower, logo-ed section of the cone (like a 808); get nothing from them.

I have a lot of respect for the supplier so I'm not gonna drop names, but it's not ovale. And not their fault, it's ah manufacturing issue, but this is gonna be messy. got over 100 bucks vested in the eCab, atty's tanks, batts, caps, and batts w/o taking a drag... As I am firm believer in backups BUT I am OVER this system; plus they don't have the color I ordered In-stock.

Well, I already emailed um saying "this thing is F'ed" but all polite like.

Chicks buggin me, g2g... If anyone cares, post. and I'll let you know what happened.

Just for the record never wanted the "perfect" vape from this thing; just something to throw in my pocket till I got home from running a muck.
