Because it's a piece of glass with a couple o rings. I honestly had no idea they cost that much.

There is a high-end for everything in this hobby. $1,000 mods. $100 atties. Why not $95 for a carto tank? Especially if that includes custom designed glass, charms and matching drip tip.

BTW, a cheap carto-tank will cost about 10 bucks, 12 with an included carto. We're talking about the difference between a Coolfire 1 and a Hana Modz dna 30 here. Both will get you to 8.5 watts. :)

Honestly, I'm okay with buying expensive gear. I've had the most reliability with it over the time I've been vaping. When I purchase less expensive attys or tanks, they prove themselves to actually be a cheap product. I found myself working up to the "best" and it ended up being wasted money. Sure, I got experience throughout all the lower-end but buying the high-end gear first saves your money in the long run. That's just been my personal experience.

To answer the QUESTION: The most consistent vape I've had is a tanked Boge Cartomizer. However, Boge had a quality control issue and it's almost a hit or miss when purchasing online. Luckily I still have plenty of boxes of perfect cartos so I'm still good for quite a bit. I ordered some online after my first big purchase of them and ran into the sub-par Boge's. It almost shattered my ideas of cartos. I did some research and it seems some of their factories were taking shortcuts, or something of the sort. I still use the GOOD ones as my daily-drivers in my tank. Consistency is HUGE in my vaping experience and I get that in spades with a well built Boge carto.

Besides that, I'd recommend an RDA. I have a Trident V2 on the way and I'm really excited about it. I was going to buy an Atomic RDA but they were sold out while I was checking around. It won' be my daily driver but I'm really looking forward to having something at the house which produces the purest flavor for my juices and giant vapor production. Some have coined these luxuries, "The Recliner Vape" <-- I like that.

My Protank has been rocksteady for 10 months.

I am with you on this. I had my first protank so long i sucked the chrome off of the tip. Then i dropped it and broke it. got another one and it just keeps on going. I buy coils at the store and they always work. I have never had a dead one yet. i see no reason to continue the search. I now spend my extra cash on an old hotrod...

My favorite set up is ibtanked with smok carto.
Next favorite is a $6 smoktech cartotank with the same carto, boge's work fine as well.

Next inline is smoktech pbc v2. Or the fbc
Final favorite is from chinabuye mt3 with kanger universal coils.
All of the above are the most consistant for me.

With that said i have aspire bdc's in various shapes and sizes, iclear 10s, 16 and 30, protank 2, itank, kanger t2, t3, evod, and i few others i cant think of without digging around.

back when I was using protanks, if I had flooding issues, it was usually either 1- barometric pressure changes or quick temp changes such as walking out of my job and getting into my hot car BAM instant gurgling

or 2- The juice I was using was really thin, so I had better luck with 100 percent VG juices at a slightly lower wattage.

I'm pretty stuck on rebuilding right now.... if I can rebuild then YOU can too trust me lol. I'm using a HELIOS RDA clone. pretty good overall and PRETTY good for 15 bucks!

I like the AGA-T2, and when size is the issue I like the Mini-Davide. Both are rebuildable and work as well as the wicks and coils I build. You can get an AGA-T2 for less than $20 these days, and the Mini-Davide will set you back maybe $12. Granted I drilled out the air hole and wick hole on the AGA-T2, but you only have to do that once, and you really don't have to do it at all. It really depends on your preferences. My personal opinion is that there's no need to buy an expensive RBA or RDA because, regardless of how much money you spend, they only vape as well as what you build inside. I have a limited amount of money to spend on vaping, so I put the majority of it into my batteries. Some will agree, some will disagree, but that's my 2 cents on the subject. :)
