I use organic cotton balls from target. Doesn't say sterile but they are 100% cotton ( no latex). I have no complaints and they have worked great in my evods and pro tank. I even made some long wicks to use in my mini nova.

I'm using q-tip cotton now. It's 100% cotton. I'm gonna go to walgreens and grab some organic pretty soon. Funny enough, most of the CVS's in Nashville are in shady parts of town. I guess it's just a regional thing.
I've only used organic cotton balls.... They work great for me with no foul taste or aftertaste.
I just made some flavor wicks from cheesecloth that I had laying about... didn't think to boil it. I mean, if it's vapor, how much bacteria could it get? Not to mention I have never steralized the inside of my tank, lol... They do taste different than whatever the original wick was made of, but they make a lot more vapor....

I use the organic ones they sell at Walgreens. Taste bad for the first half hour or so. Maybe I'll give the CVS sterile cotton a try. It's funny that only some people pick up on the off flavor.
I am using the cotton off of freakin qtips, it is such a small amount of cotton... who cares! seriously, compared the the 400 chemicals in EACH cig we used to smoke, add one to this coil and WHOOP! I am 99.9% sure not matter what cotton we use.. .it's better!!!
Maybe I'm missing something here about Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) but I can't seem to find any evidence that HP even exist long enough to be a contamination concern. According to everything I can find from the ever-so-popular Wikipedia to the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry run by the CDC seems to indicate that HP rapidly breaks down to oxygen and water upon being exposed to sunlight.

It is also produced naturally in the environment by organisms of all sizes... even ourselves thru metabolism.
Being exposed to concentrated amounts found in industrial applications is obviously not a good thing, but so far I cannot seem to find any proof that it would exist as a residue on cotton, and if it did, wouldn't just opening the bag and letting it sit in direct sunlight negate any concerns?

BTW... I use un-boiled Organic, HP Bleached cotton in my coils, although I have boiled a handful of cotton and I personally didn't notice a difference in taste or performance when vaping.
