So I have a zmax2 with a 510 Dct carto mod with 2 holes and tested at 1.5 ohms. From the power chart I found on this forum, optimum voltage is in the 3.5v vicinity. But why is it when I set to 6v , the vapor is huge and the hit is much smoother. I like the hit and vapor but am confused as why this is so and am worried something will give/ burn ie the coil etc.

what am I missing?

ps it's a 100% vg juice

No its correct, they run two 3 ohm coils in parallel which halves the final resistance.

To get both coils up to acceptable vaping temp more power is required.

You can also use single coil cartos in those tanks. They just referred to them as dual coil tanks initially & it's stuck.

If the cartomizers you are using came with a product labeled "DCT tank" or "DCT"...then it's dual coil. When you go to buy cartomizers, you'll generally see somewhere in the description if it's single coil or dual coil. I advise single coil (personally) for a smoother vape that doesn't pull as much power from your battery (thus making it lose it's charge faster). This goes for cartomizers pre-punched for "carto tanks" as well as regular cartomizers you can punch yourself.
