Switched to vape about Aug. 2011, and have not looked back. Used analogs for a few days when flying, and wished I hadn't. Started with a Go-Go and RY4 and still like those at times. Like the air draw, and sweeter flavors. I've tried most things that have developed since then, so here are some notes on that...

Current best choices for me..

1. Cotton Wicks - Cotton has the cleanest flavor when allowed to soak for 24-48 hrs.. I use rounds, as some other choices seem to have various after tasts. Next best is bambo, as it's a little more tolerant to coil temp (dosn't burn as easy). Have not tried hemp.

2. RBA drippers - One of my primarys at home. IGO's are good, but my fav. is the "Choice" for flavor. It's a little odd... will fall apart if you look at it too slanted, but has adjustable air to that's easy. I've drilled my other RBA's out some for more air, but think it might be the taller chamber that helps this one out. I just use cotton wicks with 30g K-wire. at 1.5 - 2.2 ohm.

3. tanks - I've never liked any tank, xcept the Klanger bottom feeders. Probably something todo with my Go-Go startup. Currently I re-wick evol and Pro-tanks with bambo on bottom and cotton on top, using existing coil. I like the Pro-Tank best, but the little ones work well for around town. I've had no luck with mesh or ceramic based systems.

4. Batt. Power - Current fav. is Seg Zmax v2. Like the vW ability. I've had some trouble with my Provari after a year of use and this is my replacement. It's a little taller with big battery (must have big battery for me), and with vW I don't have to adjust as much with different heads. I'm sure it's not built as well as the Provari, but I can buy 3 of these for one of those. 3 yrs from now these will all probably seem quaint! Have a VAMO, but it's bigger and NOT brushed stainless, so not as comfortable for me. Do like the 3 button design though.

5. Fluids - Finally making some progress on DIY. Took a while to figure out that 1 drop / 5-10ml of some things can make a lot of difference. Too much of a good things is bad. Seeping is always a good thing (excep perhaps fruits, that i don't like). Tried a lot of speedup things, but heat seems to be the most effective. I think if it like cooking a pot roast. You can try and do it in a couple of hours, but only a slow roast will bring out the flavors.

Well Welcome to ECF . Looks like you have your vaping stuff pretty much all figured out . I gave up my Provari as well . Sent it in under warranty , and they still wanted 40.00 to repair . So I paid it , got it back and promptly sold it . Now into VW , so using my Vamo's and Sigelei's . In fact , just ordered a Sigelei T-max . to replace my Reo . The Reo just too limiting for me . And I do DIY , as well . Now that I'm at 0 nic. It's been very easy to do . I order my base juice 70 VG / 30 Pg , and just add the flavorings . When you DIY , you can add as much or little flavoring , as suits you . And it's very cheap .

Apologies for any thread drift but given the thread title, I hope it's ok to ask where do you get the custom mixed base juice (that works for you...)?

Thx.
