Hello, and thankyou for looking at this. My family member has been smoking for 51 years, and he has copd. He wont go to a doctor. Will not quit smoking. A few years ago he tried an e cig and swore it tasted like burning cigarette butts  He is going to die soon if he doesn't stop, and I am desperate to find something that would work. It needs to make a good impression. So what should I get? Thank you so much ~Rosanne~

The best option is Snus, which is Swedish-style oral tobacco in tiny pouches placed behind the top lip and discarded after 10 minutes.

I'd try that first because you will only be out the cost of a tin of Snus if it doesn't play. Basically you get all the tobacco effect without any smoke. But if he won't use that then maybe a simple ecig in the mid-size range (eGo size) is best.

With copd it's best not to inhale anything (except air), so I agree with giving the Snus a try. I too smoked for over 50 years, so also don't have nice pristine lungs to work with. What worked for me were e-cig flavors that I liked coupled with the nicotine level that I needed, not any specific device. A common flavor that most like in the beginning is called "RY4", so that would be my suggestion of where to start. Most need a nicotine level of 18 to 24mg to halt the cravings in the beginning.

There are a bazillion good PV's to choose from, but none of them will work if he doesn't like the e-liquid flavor being used.
