i dont think there is enough room to fit the existing parts from a grande to a nova using the regular nova base. i think that would require designing a new head piece since the grande head sits on the air tube and with the nova base there is no room for all that stuff in there. also the big center nova tube takes up a lot of room that could instead hold juice. i'm not knocking the replaceable heads system but in the future of this modular design could also be several different base units too... lots of possibilities. they shouldn't discontinue the stone but rather integrate it as optional parts of the nova system. mix and match to build the tank setup that works best for you. now i wonder if its worth trying to put a phoenix bottom coil in there - i haven't gotten the bigger one to play with yet though.

i just took the head and tube from the grande and swapped them with the head and tube from a v2 stone. if i had extra v3 stone parts i would have tried putting the head on the removable stem with the clips. but the center tube assy is the same from stone to grande so i just pulled the center tube out of the grande base and put it in the stone base. you could prolly leave the stone center tube but i wanted to make sure it fit the cup right so i swapped out the tube too. i also had to remake the cup seal as it was too big around to fit in the nova tube. this particular head only works so so but i wanted to see if it would fit and work.
and so far it seems to work really well. cant get a dry hit if i try. but it does seem to get a little gurgley now and then. it was that way before though too but its the only grande i had to work with...

I've actually been considering getting some Grandes or Stones; I don't find the vivi novia that attractive because I have an easy time rebuilding all my clearos as it is and it looks to me like it will taste like a stardust, which I have a love hate relationship with

How does the flavor on your hybrid compare to a Fluxo, Phoenix?

Good work!

well my taste is a bit fried and floats around a lot. havent used fluxs since the visions came out. not sure how to compare it but i have gv grape in it and tastes about the same i think as the other visions and phoenix. nice and grapey lol just more wick and ect. and the coil seems bigger around in this one than in any of my other visions but its the only grande i have had so i dont know what is normal for them.

oh and thankyou :2cool:

That is awesome, Harmonic! I have been trying to think of a way to get a different tip on a Grande, and your solution is genius. Costwise, it won't be prudent to buy Stones and Grandes one for one, but if the tank can be be used again and again as the coil dies, this may just be the ticket... Or perhaps the top of the stone can be forced to thread onto the Grande.....I see a Gotvapes purchase in my near future...

the center air tube seems to be standard diameter so its a simple matter to pull it out and use a different one from a ce2 or vision. but if your putting a new head on you could prolly just reuse the existing stuff and just use the ceramic cup and coil assy from prolly any vision or ce2. not a big deal if you can solder the wires ok lol

Harmonic,
How did you seal the top? have you seen the mod where we punch a hole in a carto rubber mouth piece and slip it over the cup? I have modded all my grands or whatever they are called and they work great like that

EDIT: name, you'd think with all red text I could remember the difference...My bad

i just used the cap that came on the grande originally and ever so slightly enlarged the hole in a stone cap until it fit nice and snug but not so tight it would twist the seal during assembly. i also turned it down with the aid of a drill and dremel and then flattened the sides to resemble a vision seal making it easy to pour the juice in just like the other versions (nova and stone)...
i've not seen the carto mouthpiece mod? whatever you mentioned kwalka are you meaning like a carto condom thing?
just as an update it has been a daily driver since i made it and i only parked it a couple of days ago cuz its starting to have that need to be cleaned taste - note i haven't done anything other than fill and vape repeatedly since its construction a month ago and its been rocking the whole time so that makes sense lol

and thanks guys for the compliments
