I've got a decent flavor selection (for just a couple weeks into DIY), the urge to mix, but heck if I can think of what to make. Here's what I have to work with. All of my current flavorings are tfa:

ripe banana
black cherry
cinnamon danish
double chocolate dark
cream de menthe
dragon fruit
energy drink
graham cracker
honeydew
kentukybourbon
juicy fruit
key lime
marshmallow
menthol liquid
sweet tarts
american tobacco
555 type dk
watermelon
vanilla cupcake.

I know I need more flavorings, but that problem cannot be solved tonight. Any ideas, bring them on and thanks.

4% Vanilla Cupcake
4% Cinnamon Danish
3% Carmel (Original)
3 drop of AP per 7ml (For a nutty taste)

I made this and a few other people have tried it and liked it. I know you don't have Caramel (A must have for me, I love Caramel) but I was thinking maybe 2% marshmallow instead. The AP was for nuttiness and I don't think it would hurt to leave out. As a matter of fact next time I make it I'm thinking of trying Hazelnut instead.

Cheers,
Steve

I say master the single flavors alone by themselves first before mixing flavors. This way you can know what they are suppose to taste like so when you mix you can tell how one flavor interacts with another. Believe me it will save you a lot of trouble with your mixes in the future.

Btw wanted to say disco that's good advice I know I should follow and wileE I'll check that list later. I hate reading through recipes because I'm always one ingredient short, but once I've expanded my flavors most certainly.

When I am a flavor short, I improvise. Then viola, a new delicious and original flavor! If I am reading a recipe and am missing something, I just keep a running cart. When I get to a point, I click the checkout button. This helps too when I start running low on a flavor.

You are in the right place, ECF has helped me alot on my DIY. Good luck and happy vaping! :vapor:

I think trying to master single flavors is good to a point. The problem is some flavors are more enhancers or additives imo.
Examples I have lots of creams, marshmallow, chocolates, EM, etc - For the most part they are not good on their own (that's being generous :D ) but when you add them to mixes they are very good. I guess for me I'm a little more adventurous, have a pretty good cooking background, and try to flavor light so I have room to adjust. Like the recipe I posted. If you made it and said, I think it needs a little more Cinnamon or I think more Vanilla Cupcake is in order, you have room to add 1-2% more of either and still be at 12%. To each his own I always say. Me personally I don't think there is only 1 right way to do things. What works good for me, might not work good for you and vice versa. Good Luck with your DIY!

Cheers,
Steve

Edit I'll add, when I get in an adventurous mood, I make small batches so if it doesn't come out good, I'm not out much.

AGREE! No one can "make a good vape" out of a flavor that's meant to be an enhancer of other flavors. On the other hand, without knowing the 'nature of the brute', it can become very frustrating to throw things together and have no idea what is causing what (that you like, or don't like).

I'm a stellar cook - but nothing could have prepared me for the strange way the chemicals interact and change/overpower/smother/enhance other flavors. But being a good cook certainly helps us to understand what seems to be happening and make some good guesses for making the right corrections.

That all being said, with what we know now...if we were in some kind of a "vape mix contest" and only had a few minutes to come up with 3-5 winning vapes, we'd try:

6 - 8% Black Cherry
2% Marshamallow
.5%-1% Banana Ripe (that stuff can overpower anything & everything)

7-8% Energy Drink
4% Black Cherry
1% Key Lime

4% Cinnamon Danish
4% Black Cherry
2% Graham Cracker
2% Kentucky Bourbon

(Cherry Bourbon Crumb Cake)

And just because these are crazy and might work (and if they did they'd bring home the trophy)...

5% Vanilla Cupcake
5% Juicy Fruit

3% Dragonfruit (edit: or Juicy Fruit or yeah, Black Cherry again)
6% Honeydew
Blip of menthol

Thanks for lettin' us play!

I agree with everyone about the enhancers but that's one of the first thing to learn with DIY, you have to know which flavors are enhancers and which ones are the bases. I say the first thing to recognize an enhancer is something that you wouldn't sit down and just eat. I don't think I have ever sat down and just ate a bowl of cream, vanilla bean or a bowl of chocolate syrup.

a word of advice all flavors are not good just because you have TFA Strawberry doesn't mean its the best strawberry or a strawberry you like. You mix a TFA strawberry and TFA Vanilla Swirl and you don't like it, but you could go back and mix Cap Strawberry and TFA Vanilla Swirl and its the taste you was looking for so don't sell yourself on one flavor from one company. I would totally eat a bowl of chocolate syrup! ;)

The black cherry and marshmallow I've done before never would have thought to add banana to that. I also have a strong cooking back round so I can typically smell the liquid and tell if it's meant to accompany other flavors or be good on its own. Def some interesting ideas. Sadly my "mixing time" was interrupted and I only got one test made of key lime 4% marshmallow 4% and vanilla cupcake 2%. Vaped through .5ml it's decent, with a little age (especially being a vg blend) it might be great. Can't wait to try some of the other ideas! Thanks y'all.
