I love food pairings, drink pairings..

so what are your dinner plans and what NT are you having?

we're doing something non-traditional - no set dinner time, no stress allowed, come when you can and in your jammies!

turkey, ham, green bean casserole, squash, chopped salad, and lots of wine! it's pot luck otherwise, so I'm excited to see what others bring!

I'll probably be on the Wakonda Strain during the day, with BC+Doodle for dessert!

Lunch at noon with my daughter, son and grandson. Afternoon will consist of napping(I won't get off work until 2:30am Thanksgiving morning) and then football when I'm awake. Daughter has to work, grandson goes to his dad and son is spending the weekend with a friend. With the football will be the SPC I've been steeping for a month! :)

I have to work Friday, my family is all out of state so I have turned down all offers to join other families, and am looking forward to a lazy day at home and internet shopping.
Planning on skipping all the traditional foods other than pumpkin pie, on the lookout for halibut...otherwise not sure what's for dinner yet.

Definitely breaking out SPC, maybe ACB and Switch?

The traditional turkey and stuffing dinner is at my brother and sister-in-laws house each year. (No one trusts me with the turkey, I can't figure out WHY!) I'm responsible for Buffalo Dip, Sweet Potato Balls, and Pumpkin Pie Cake. No one is coming from out of town so there will only be about a dozen of us --- PLUS BABIES AND DOGS!

Christmas is at my house every year - I can do HAM.

My hubby's folks are coming here for Dickey's ham, beans, and potato casserole...No one likes turkey but me so no baked turkey and endless turkey leftovers  And as there will only be four of us we are only getting a few pounds of ham plus the sides. My MIL (as stated previously and often) is not allowed near food. One Thanksgiving (that I didn't want to have because it was four days after my surgery) she and my FIL showed up with a turkey ball (put by her in the oven six hours previously, frozen which made it only thawed), a canned ham even my spam loving hubby wouldn't eat and a box of stuffing

So there I am on pain meds cooking a crappy meal I can't eat for the next three hours. I was not a happy camper. Got done cooking and took more meds then went to bed as they sat down to eat. I had calls from my MIL for months starting with, "Oh my dear, I am so very sorry. I didn't know when you said you were having surgery you were having real surgery as it was only outpatient..."

So it comes from Dicky's and she has been told many times just to bring themselves; got a bet running with hubby what she'll end up brining regardless...

Thanksgiving days are a little hard for me.

My two sons are adopted, both have African-American heritage. My family didn't approve, so I've not really seen or spoken to them for 12+ years (besides my granny).

My hubby is taking the boys down to his family's for Thanksgiving. He has seven sisters, and they've all multiplied by the tens of hundreds, lol. I am not close to them, so I choose not to go.

I will be at home, studying, probably surfing the internet.

BUT BRING ON CHRISTMAS!!! The boys and hubby stay here, with me at home, and I deck it all out. A ham, turkey, all the fixings. And there is only 4 of us!!!
