The management there says not everyone has family so they need someplace to go. If they're open they can go bowling or to a movie and eat in the diner. His way of making money at his employees expense. We have not had a "traditional" Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve or Christmas Day since she's worked there.
But that's why she went back to school. So she could have those days off.

I took the whole week off, but I'm a half hour short on pto so going to end up going in on Tuesday. So I'm enjoying a three day weekend and then a five day weekend. Having traditional Thanksgiving at my parents house with my family for a couple hours, and then we are going to my wife's family's for the rest of the night, with some Mexican flair mixed in. It's how we've done it for years. I'll be bringing the good beer, and have it all to myself since everyone there only likes the commercial stuff. Going to be so stuffed it's a good thing the kids and I will be sleeping in the next day. My wife, not so lucky. Oh and I'll be busting out the SPC.
My daughter is working Thanksgiving night so we will eat early. She's a nurse though, guess I can't be upset about keeping the hospital open
I personally think saving lives is pretty important and trumps dinner.
Plus, when I worked holidays as an RN I received double time and a half. Not bad at all.

My company is making us "B" shift workers work our normal 8 hours on Wednesday so that means I'll go in at 6:00pm on Wednesday and get off at 2:30am Thursday morning.

On Wednesday I'll be going for my 2nd session on my chest tattoo, Thursday will be spent at my girls sisters house where I'll eat some and drink lots. Being a Brit we don't have thanksgiving but I like to eat and drink, so should be fun, I just need to stay away from the Mescal and the moonshine this time......

Last time I wrestled with someone in some of those big giant sumo suit things, I don't remember a thing about doing it, or cracking my head open on a wall when I fell backwards. If it wasn't for the phone footage I wouldn't have believed it....

Sadly we are going to my wife's dis-functional side of the family for Thanksgiving. I do it for to make her happy. Usually the best part of the day is laying bets on who will get ticked off first and leave.
