Does anyone know what the equivalent in inhales an ecig is to a cigarette

Ive heard today,

On a high nic 24mg its 5 inhales to every one on a cigarette.

You have 10 inhales on a cigarette to finish it!

So an ecig would be 50 inhales the equivant of a ...!

Is this the right calculation just wondering cos you can over puff on your ecig i find !

This question in a way is elusive at best...diferrent manufacturers will claim diferrent stuff...there is no consistent measurement or even an equivalent to a real cig..so all we have now is rough guess and estimates..

what is to be known at this juncture is that not all atomisers are producing a constant dosage..all depends on how good the atomiser is functioning and the battery power level and of course the correct nicotine level/strength...

a lot of user will realise the drop in "Nic kick" as the battery gets weaker..so to compare that to a real cig is not accurate..in fact so far it remains elusive unless we can put a e-smoker into a gas spectrometer room with all the sensors licking onto Nicotine fumes released or the best continous monitoring of nicotine levels in the blood ..now that is tough...;)

I hope it can help somewhat...we do need a complete analysis if we want to know more but so far no takers...:(

i dont think the ratio is as bad as five to one with a decent device.. but lets face it it depends on how well the device is working.. with a crap one it could be as bad as 20 to one..

its a nonsense figure.. there are crap e cigs and there are week and strong fags.. trying to arrive at a single figure is stupid..

compare a weak e cig with a strong ... the ratio looks bad.. compare a strong e cig with weak ... the ratio looks better..

my youngest son who has run out of e cigs went back to roll ups for a few days.. i ask him if after e smoking he needed more real fags.. he said no just the same as before..

my eldest son who still smokes the odd roll up like i do says his pipe satisfies his need for nicotine perfectly.. get ready to laff.. the odd roll up is just for the placebo effect.. he misses the action of making and preparing one then setting fire to it.. .. he he he

I suppose with a device on top form
it might be more 3 to 1 !

Thanks Jim!!!!

In order not to take any chances puking my brains out, I keep different levels of carts and liquid.

If I notice myself vaping more than usual (some days are like that, others aren't), I go down a strength or two in my device for the rest of the day. I haven't over nic'd myself doing this. I have over nic'd myself at least twice in the beginning using the e-cigs. I try to be a little more aware of my usage during the day.

When I start hanging on the internet, reading or writing, I can have that thing hanging out of my mouth for hours straight and not even realize it.

My doofus friend...wondered why she got a big honkin' headache once. She sat and watched an all day Law and Order Marathon...vaping her devices...only putting them down to go potty (and sometimes took them with her.) I bought her some low carts for the next time there is a Law and Order marathon on.

I miss hands free smoking too. :(
My e-cigs just don't feel right smoking hands free. Plus if I need to pause for a while I just drop it in my shirt pocket.

I don't think I'd be able to compare real cig hits to e-cig hits. They have a completely different effect IMO.

leaving an e cig in the mouth while working would be dangerous i recon.. busted teeth.. being choked when u forget its there and it gets rammed down yer throat.. not good.. he he

Funny you say that... I really don't mind hands-free with my pen style. It just kinds of hangs on my lower teeth while my top hold it in place.... In fact i USUALLY got in my car that way. Till one morning the tip bumped against the steering wheel and i immediately flashed to a photo i had once seen of a young kid who had punched a perfectly round hole in the back of his throat with a drinking straw....

now the eciggie comes out BEFORE the door opens.... ~shivers~

Hey, Doc! Long time, no hear!

I do that, too, usually at the computer at work. It's in the lanyard bag, so when I get tired of it, I just let it drop.

The KISSbox manual, OTOH, truly CAN'T be smoked hands free. :p
