What's a "drip shield"?

it slides over an atty over the vent holes and keeps the juice that will more than likely try to seep out sometimes out of those vent holes contained within-making a less messy drip session-
that said, i am in search of a 510 drip shield,
i know empire mods is the home of the 901 model, though i believe they are out of stock atm?

edit, not my image, but found it here-

the rigid thing over the atty is a shield.

They even now make a fully functional drip shield for eGo bats
Drip Shield Cone - Avid Vaper

If you overfill an atomizer or cartomizer, the extra juice will leak out the vents at the bottom. This makes a mess and the juice just goes to waste. The drip shield has an O ring inside of it that sets just below the vents. This allows the juice to be drawn back into the atomizer/cartomizer so that you can use it.

DSE901 attys have a hole (and air intake) right in the middle of the side of the atty, leading into the atomizer coil compartment. When you drip, excess juice is most likely to escape out that hole and drip down your ecig, your fingers, etc. When you lay the 901 down it drips on whatever surface you lay it on. I think the drip shields were originally designed for 901

Drip Shields are a must IMO, I get tired of my collection of tech wipes that pile up on my desk lol. @unsure nice woodvil. I noticed that there were some REO Grands posted today on their site, I think there is only a few left. I wish I could have grabbed one today...still thinking about it.

Funny of the day regarding the need for a drip shield. PerfectElu "Damn...I'm dripping...must have flooded the atty...my drip tip keeps leaking" CO-worker response "Sorry Bro...that sounds like a bad week end in Thailand...let me know if you go again".
