I would have to say that if you're now a non-smoker, the best advice is not to start vaping.

Now that thats out of the way....

Vaping is awesome! If you're looking for something portable then i recommend some sort of mechanical mod with a reverse thread lock ring so you dont have to worry about it firing in your pocket. You need to do a bit of research before buying a mech on proper battery storage and battery safety, but if you picked up something like the aspire nautilus tank then you can run 18350 batteries and reduce the size of the whole unit. You can find some pretty sweet deals on mech most of the time, just do a bit of research on the mech before you buy it, watch a review or two, check out possible issues etc.

Then there is the box mod route. I cant speak much for these because ive never used one, but many people swear by them.

There are also plenty of starter kits available, but from what ive seen, most of the people who buy those end up upgrading within a month anyway so why not start at the next level up from the beginning.

Wow thanks for the information but it's too confusing for a beginner like me. Is a mech mod/box mod something I wil have to build myself with different parts?

I second the Kanger Istick 30 watt mod but with the Kanger mini sub tank. There are some safety features in the mod that a mech mod doesn't have. I don't recommend mech mods to people that are new to vaping because you not only have to buy the batteries and charger separately, but you need to be more careful with certain things and have a little bit of knowledge with a mech mod. With the Istick, you don't have to buy batteries and a charger separately.

You dont have to build a mech yourself but @MiamiMom63 does have a point in that you do have to buy batteries and chargers separately. Some box mods are DIY but not all. I just recommend what i like and what works for me. But since there are 2 votes for the iStick i would have to agree

aahhhemm ... mech mods are for experienced users...
since you have very little experience with vaping a good suggestion would be to look into VV/VW ( variable voltage/variable wattage) types of battery/power supply for your first unit. As far as the top part ( atty) consider looking into a tank style unit with replaceable coils ( premade)... unfortunately there are about 5000 different setups one can configure with all of the different parts available...
take some time and do some Youtube watching of Vape Reviews, browze some websites which sell the items to get an idea of costs and general knowledge of the parts... Fasttech.com is one such site, but be prepared for information overload :)

do you have any friends that vape?? if so maybe you can borrow one of their backups for a week or 2 to see if you really want to enter this venue before dropping the cash... it can get pricey... a decent setup can run around 100$ usd from online, if you buy it at a vape shop you can pretty much double the price...
one of my long time favorite setups is the SVD from Itaste, the RSST atomizer, VTC4 batteries (3), and an Intellicharger dual bay ( charges 2 batteries at a time)

you will see plenty of suggestions on what to get....

You are right, i probably shouldnt have recommended that. The only reason i did was they are good for portability. 18350s are small and easily stored, lock rings help prevent misfires, fit in your pocket and away you go. I have no experience with box mods and the only vv unit ive ever used was the aspire.

I will once again concede and let others give better recommendations.

If there is a vape shop in your area, go and do some shopping. Let them show you some options, but don't get run over buy a pushy salesman. I'm big on seeing/touching/feeling something before I buy it. I do most of my buying online these days, but I still like the B&M store for window shopping. I usually buy a bottle or 2 of juice to give them something for their time.

Don't know all details on all of these set ups but check out YouTube reviews. Istick has 20,or 30,or 50watt to choose from depends what you are looking for, you may want more power in the future, and can change tanks and/or coil down the road. Evic vt looks like good starter, also check out Mvp starter kit, kanger has starter kit, will need battery though., and ego one starter, volts not adjustable though.do some research. Here's a good place to start

Hi, this is my first post.
Never tried vaping but sounds very interesting. Have quit smoking for 7 years but recently came across vaping and would like to try. Any recommendations? Thanks!

It's gotta be the way though right ?.

Years ago an ex smoker would just light em up, without even thinkin about it.

Now, if you feel like you're gonna fall of the wagon there is a perfectly good, very satisfying alternative.

Recommendations ?. Yep.........spend spend and spend some more !.

Oh and then keep on spendin. :vapor:
