I’ve got a couple of questions. I’ll be brief with the background. vaping got me off smoking, so no complaints there, but a lot of my juices were coming in tasteless, or I was mixing juices with double or triple amounts of flavour just to get decent taste. My gear consisted of 510s, 801 box mod, and a SB.

My gear has now evolved to 3.7v mods with LR 510 atties and drip tips. And it’s like a whole new world’s opened up. Previously tasteless liquid is now…I’ll give three examples.

1) Turkish Blend: From mostly tasteless to…sour and walnuts and oak? I’m struggling to find the language.

2) Canadian Cigarette: Completely tasteless to…tart and some kind of wood. I want to say spruce. And…brandy?

3) A previously insipid RY4 now tastes like great gooey globs of caramel.

This really shocks me. Is this a common experience at 5v or equivalent? Or did analogs massacre so many of my tastebuds that I have to carpet bomb the city to hit the last few survivors?

Do other people get this much flavour from standard atties and carts?

My second question is one of sensation. On a few draws now, from 510 LRs, I feel like there’s an undercurrent. It’s like within the overall inhale, there’s a smaller, tighter, cooler and stronger current.

Is this legit? Can there be higher and lower pressure currents in the vapour? Or is this an illusion? Something the artificial flavouring’s doing to a specific region of my tongue?

Reading that last question over, it makes me sound like a lunatic. But then my evening vaping setup has grown from a little tin cigarette to a trio of black and silver devices that look like they could be assembled into a handgun, and that, in and of itself, suggests I’ve gone a little off the rails.

Lol I am sorry but that is pretty funny all around. You have only been vaping for a very little while. Over the next couple of months your taste buds will change and wake up and eventually settle. You will smell things better, which also affects your sense of taste and all of that will not really settle down all the way for maybe 6 months, In the meantime, I would drink lots of water (which is also going to start to taste of something) experiment with all kinds of flavors and just kind of enjoy the ride a bit.
I think you have the sense of humor to hang in there.

Thanks for the responses so far, gang.

From reading through these forums I expected there to be some improvement in my sense of taste and smell, but I assumed that it would be gradual. For me, it's more like an on/off switch has been flipped.

Also normal to wake up and find everything tastes of nothing or one thing only, and normal to go off a juice you previously thought was wonderful

How am I supposed to write reviews or be consistent with DIY mixes if my sense of taste changes its mind more often than Italy during a world war? This is unacceptable. Who do I complain to about this?

This is exactly why I don't enjoy giving reviews of juice ! Seems I never taste the same thing everyone else tastes (Halo Freedom being a prime example). Course I only use a standard 510 or an eGo, so that's what I'm blaming.

Water here can get pretty bad too. When I was using analogs hubby would comment on how bad it taste now and then. I never noticed.
I do now.

The Npro gets a lot of negative reviews when it comes to cost because of the over the counter price. You can get it pretty reasonable online and it is the one atty that I have no trouble tasting flavors with.
