The Russian is just another Kayfun clone. It's not an authentic, but they charge authentic prices for it. They're pretty solid quality, bit still just an over priced Chinese clone. Might as well save yourself a huge chunk and buy one of the reasonably priced clones with good reviews.

The Russian is not made in China... and is not really considered a clone.

The story I heard is that the Kayfun started with 2 guys, but they had different opinions so they agreed to set out to make it they own way separately. The reason it's called the Russian 91% is that the chimney is supposedly 91% the length of that of the Kayfun.

No, all of that is a flat out lie. Everyone who made the Kayfun still works there. The Russian is a Chinese made copy of it. These are facts, not rumors. Not that I blame you, somebody has gone to a lot of trouble to spread that bit of misinformation. The fact remains, the Russian is made in China and it was copied from the Kayfun with no input from the original designers. It is a clone.

If you decide to rebuild AND you still want to keep the smaller form factor, I would also recommend you look at the Taifun GS. I use mine quite often, even on the larger battery mods. Not going into the build too much, but I'm using 2.5 ohms, cotton wick, and SS mesh feeder tubes to the tank (best build on this thing). Great flavor, great hit, great vapor.

20 bucks for a clone is a really good price for this atomizer. IMO one of the best performing small form factor RTAs available.

I too am going to be hopefully moving past BVC's here soon in the next month hopefully. I recently started vaping about 2 months ago and I have my eyes set on a Russian 91% seems like the standard. The authentic Kayfun sounds and looks great as well but from what I have gathered here the Russian is the exact thing but a little better performance wise? Correct?

Yes. I have two. Just a little in opinion. Haven't used it in a month since I fell in love BVC coils.
Stupid simple and less maintenance for me.

If I had to give up all my tanks but one, I would keep the Taifun GS. If your looking for smaller form factor and great performance and virtually no leaking I would recommend it also. Don't get me wrong, the kayfuns are great devices but their big and heavy. The Taifun works and looks good on any mod barring the 26650 giants. I use it on my mods in 18500 and 18350 modes. Refilling on the fly and being able to adjust your ss feeder tubes to suit your juice preference, pg or high vg. Once it's fine tuned, packs a punch on flavor and vapor. This has been my experience with it. Others maybe not. Anyway good luck in your search.
