I DIY my own juice. I can make a half liter for $50. IMO it beats all the store bought juice around. But I had to tweak it for several months to get the mixture I like... eJuice is just like hardware, subjective. And, a juice you hate now, you might love in a month or two...

Welcome aboard! I'm a Conway boy myself!

After six weeks to the day i have been vaping regular vapeshop juice. The other day I tried some Five Pawns and it made me gag. really! am I just missing something or what?

Taste is completely subjective. You're not missing anything if you don't like 5 pawns. Don't buy in to the hype.

For some it's the best liquid ever, for others it's horrible. Personally I don't mind a bit of Gambit, but it's not in my rotation and I don't like it enough to pay for it.

Don't let anyone else tell you what's good either. One of my favorite all time liquids is a cheap blend from Mount Baker Vapor ($7 for 30ml)

There's a lot of hype, placebo, and very good marketing and to a certain extent just charging what the market will bear going on in an industry where a lot of new customers are fairly ignorant. That said, there are real differences between liquids in ingredients used, customer service, quality control, and even simple hygeine. That also said, you can't count on a high price guaranteeing any of it.

The analogy I often use is how Beats headphones are top sellers with very high prices, but experts generally rank them below headphones costing half their price; they just tapped a market well with great marketing and image. However many of the absolute best headphones you can buy are in the same price range.

Basically, don't be afraid of the cheaper stuff; if you can get a sense that the qualities you care about are there and you like how it tastes & vapes so it keeps you off the smokie sticks then you're golden.

I don't really "get" 5 Pawns either, but the difference is supposed to be in the quality of ingredients and mixture of the flavours.
And as mentioned, I tried 2 of the Five Pawns and I don't really find them to be worth the price. However, there are some juices where I wouldn't really have any idea about how to mix them myself and to me, those are worth the price.

For anyone who's wondering, I'm talking about stuff like Grumpy's Hooch, Pipesauce Long Bottom Leaf or Suicide Bunny here.

subjective seems to be the common reply, and thats what i was thinking as well, just like my beer! Thanx shade!

There is nothing subjective in taste of beer. Only porter and IPA are suitable for drinking. I am not saying that other beers are worthless, for example Brazilian beers like Budweiser work good enough in slug traps.

Putting beer through the goat 3 more times to increase it's 'bitterness' is at best a 'preference'

Beer was created to replace sandwiches... and not the cucumber and watercress kind ya hipster.

Gimme a Guinness, a good nut brown, a wiesse, somthing that is still recognizable as beer...

Which by the way, isn't native to India, and shouldn't be treated like wine or champagne... it's beer.. :2c:

As a German, I would have to disagree with everything you just said except for the Budweiser line.

Their is a lot of hype when it comes to E juice. Some are definitely better then others but there has to be a point where you are paying for the name or packaging.
Plus some people may love a juice and you may hate it, it's different for everyone. I myself cannot stand most of Mt Baker Vapor juices, but go to the site and check reviews and you'll see many people love the stuff and just rave about it.

oh wow cool deal razorback,
I understand different flavs and all, but i really can't see 25 bucks for a cool label and bottle. I am gonna start my own juice soon, but thought I was missing something.
Thanks for the input, I cant wait to mix mine!

I represent the 5 pawns shill organization and as such Im ticketing you for suggesting 5 pawns isnt the greatest juice ever created. But yes youre paying extra for the show and dance behind it.

Still doesnt mean its not worth every penny

Taste is subjective and it is also fickle. When I first tried Gambit, I didn't think it was anything special. Then I tried it again months later and I loved it. I rotate between 3 or 4 juices and I ended up getting Gambit which I loved for a while, got tired of it, used another flavor and am now back on it again. It is the most expensive juice in my rotation, and I have been vaping it on and off for 2 months, so the cost spread over a couple months is not too bad.
