For someone who is either looking into switching to vaping or someone who has recently purchased a kit and wants to quit smoking the 'stinkies' whether its something you've been told or something you came up with on your own.

The best thing I learned when switching was that I needed to remind myself that vaping and smoking are not at all the same. At first I would take my e-cig and go sit by the fire escape window and open it up and go through the motions of smoking while vaping and try to keep it exactly the same as the habit I was trying to break. With that mentality, I was unable to stop smoking and would end up going out to the store and buying a pack (at $11/pack it got really expensive.) When I finally told myself that vaping wasn't the same as smoking and I didn't have to treat it the same, it was much easier to resist a cancer stick and just sit in front of my TV with my e-cig and vape away without having to move.. LOL vaping is the ultimate lazy activity :p

Anywho, that's my little nugget of wisdom.. Look forward to hearing what else has been said :D

Vape when you can and smoke when you have to. When you find the right juice flavor, you will forget to smoke one day without any stress, strain, or cravings.

Juice is key, but what you think you will like is seldom what works and what does work is seldom what you think it should be.

(My best advice based on myself and a number of people I know who have switched to vaping.)

It is true that Vaping isn't the same as smoking the real cigarette. It depends on each person as to why they start vaping in the first place. In my case, I originally intended to stop smoking and still am trying. That's the main reason I started vaping.

As time progress, I felt like its not that I don't have the willpower to stop smoking the real thing. It's just the habit that I normally go through. For instance, after a steamy session with the missus, a few drags on the vape doesn't seem to cut it like a normal cigarette. Or probably during my rage while gaming online. I just need to kick the habit to really stop smoking.

Just the other day I realized that I no longer smoke cigarette during occasions apart from the ones mentioned above. I feel glad that I did manage to, at least, reduce my cancer stick intake. I used to smoke a pack a day. Now 1 pack last me for about a week.

LOL as long as you're off the stinkies it's all good. I chain vaped 36 mg for the first 5 months and as you can see am now down to 8 mg. Great one of a kind thread that should be stickied IMO.

Hmm.. I'm 3 months in and I'm still doing that..... (wonders if I should be stressed now...) :p

I'm using 24mg cuz that's the highest I guess you can get anymore.. And its not so much the fix that I'm craving as the oral fixation (don't take that the wrong way you trolls :p) It reminds me of when my mom would try to quit smoking all the dozens of times she tried while I was growing up and she would go out and buy bags of those dumdum suckers for the oral fix :p

I DIY so I have options. Yeah re: trolls  I plan on quitting come Sept and plan on possible buying a mentholated "cig" BUT just last week had a nasty cold and vaped less than 10 ml and felt no withdrawal so...

Always have backups for everything including your backups.

Oddly enough my fiance and I both purchased the 901 set when we started in May (they were buy one get one 1/2 price) and this payday he decided to go with the Kgo set and so I inherited his old set which only had one battery (the other one stopped working for no reason at all but meh, it happens lol) and one atomizer (the other got washed with his work pants and afterwards the vapor tasted like laundry soap [ick]) and a handful of tanks left. So I now have 3 batteries 3 atomizers 4 cartomizers (one got tossed.. we won't discuss what happened with that one) and a dozen or so different tanks in different sizes plus I have an additional PCC now. He's loving his new set and even though most people look at the 901 pen style cigarette lookalikes with distaste, I'm still a big fan of them :)

for me, I wish someone had told me "don't expect to find the "perfect" juice. Find one you can tolerate and enjoy that kicks that stinkie craving without fail".

Now, I have one juice for pure pleasure and to ensure my other one doesn't end up flavorless after a while (fruit tsunami from VapeDudes - the only fruit flavored juice I can tolerate) and one for cravings (Black Mountain from Dark City Vapor). Haven't found one juice that will do both. At this point I'm not looking...stopped after dropping over $100 and not finding one that worked better for me than the two mentioned.

In my head I've turned this situation to "ya know what? This is a tool. I don't have to love my tools....it just has to get the job done in a competent manner." Then again, my goal is to cut out nicotine, then pretty much quit vaping unless I have a major craving or know a location will be challenging. I might snag an occasional new flavor when placing an order for something else, but otherwise I don't bother anymore. I don't need another addiction...I have enough already lol

I just recently tried a Blackberry flavor that while has a touch of sweetness it also has a surprisingly strong back of the throat hit that balances the sweet for me.. So far I haven't really liked any of the fruits either but that one is different. After exhaling with it it kinda leaves the aftertaste of a slushie LOL!

Oddly enough, every fruit one I've tried except the Fruit Tsunami tastes moldy. I actually gagged off just one hit on a few, then finally said "enough is enough!" The Fruit Tsunami actually doesn't taste like fruit. It tastes like sweet tarts and almost cleanses the palate. It definitely clears out the nose for me, which seems to bring all other flavors back. Maybe the key is to shoot for candy? lol

That brings me to more good advice: Never let someone's opinion of your gear dampen your opinion of it. If it's working for you and you love it, who cares if Joe Blow with his $3000 collection of expensive mods laughs at your pen styles? You spent a lot less money to turn your juice into vapour and achieve your desired effect.

Great advice. People think I'm  for giving away my Provari but truth be told I had no use for it and 3.7 Volts is good enuff for me....some friends have the VV because they needed it and it's all good.
