Im looking into giving one of these electronic cig's a try how ever there are just so many brands out there I dont know to begin choosing which brand to go with. I want to get some sort of starter kit and just want to hear opinions from people on which e-cig is the best as far as 1. Realism 2. Taste 3. Battery and Cartridge Life 4. Reliability. I have noticed that cost of the cartridges are pretty similar or else I would have puit cost as my 5th. I currently smoke the cheap seneca's from the Indian Reservation so buying the e-cig isnt so much for saving money its more for my health and being able to smoke near my fiance and daughter without having to worry about 2nd hand smoke. Any oppinions from you guys is greatly appreciated thank you.

that my friend is a touchy subject.......really depends on user and preference. some prefer short or long PV's. Some want long lasting battery so the dont need to carry a PCC while others dont mind a PCC. Some want to drip while others prefer carts. Its like buying a car or a pair of shoes......

most popular and my favs are the JOYE lineup....510 works for me and the EGO is just the same but beefed up and uses same equip as the 510........but wait to see what others say and find what you want....

the 510 will be a first starter kit for someone new. Dont expect to get your first one and not think you wont buy another one in the near future......experiment and see what you like

Well, that's a tough one. You're asking for something that technology can't really do yet.

The closest to what you want, I think, is the Kr808D-1. It is slightly larger than a cig. But you will have a hard time finding anything smaller that works well and has decent battery life. The Kr808 is a 2-piece, with a battery and a cartomizer.

Some other e-cigs are 3-piece, with a battery, cart, and atomizer.

The reason I suggest it over the 510, is because the Kr808 has twice as much battery life (4-6 hours, whereas the 510 is only about 2), and the cartomizers last for a 2-4 hours, while the 510 carts last me about 20 minutes.

That said, cartomizers don't last as long as atomizers do. Atomizers can go for months, but cartomizers will need to be replaced or time-consumingly washed after 6-10 refills. But, cartomizers are cheaper - about $1.25 a piece.

Taste is subjective, and people disagree on what tastes better. But both the Kr808 and the 510 have their fans.

You can pick up a Kr808 kit for about $35. buy a spare battery, extra cartomizers, and juice.

I am not going to say best..what I am going to say is when I was looking for that same answer I noticed that the majority of vapers had a 510 in their collection and it seemed to be a very good model as both an introduction to vaping.

That being said, if you are concerned about battery life ( meaning you dont want to change batteries in every 2-3 hours ) then look at the Ego. This is the 510 with a better battery.

I dont own one, but it does seem from my readings that the Kr808 is the best if you must have a cigarette size/profile.

Generally people like the 510 atty's a bit better, but I don't think many people make the 510 batteries or PCC work, they usually go to a Ego or similar. I do have a 510 and I love it, but the standard batteries do leave a bit to be desired.

Starting with Cartos is another advantage in my book (for the Kr808), I'm kinda amazing people still bother with Carts, especially on intro models, cartos are just simpler and more pleasant to use.

How much do you currently smoke?

Thanks eveyone for the replies. A pack lasts me about 1 1/2 days for who asked. Where do you guys buy this 510 Ego e-cig. The only site I have acctually looked through products before posting this thread is v2cigs.com which many of you probably know are a 2 piece cartridge set-up. They seem pretty legit alot of great reviews and nice value starter kits. I was looking at the traveler kit myself for 99.99. Just wanted to see what everyone else had to say.

Thank you guys

If you're smoking so lightly, the Ego is overkill for you. The KR808D-1 or the 510 should be fine.

Check the supplier forums for sources. They are at the end of the forum listings. The suppliers here advertise sales all the time.

Also, be aware that there are many "branded" e-cigarettes. The suppliers take a generic ecig and place their own name/brand on it. They will never tell you what actual model they are. It's important that you know what model so you can shop from supplier to supplier for additional supplies when you need them.

okay well now I know the 510 and ego are very popular. But on the other hand has anyone know anyhting about v2cigs.com? Like I said before they seem pretty good and alot of great reviews plus good prices on cartridges.

From what I can see, the V2's are over-priced Kr808D-1's. You can get them WAY cheaper than that.

The Kr808D-1 is also quite a popular and simple-to-use model. You can get it for a more reasonable price at LiteCigUSA.com. Remember to pick up more cartomizers.

Well I started with a 510 and it is a great e-cig, however, for someone that smokes a pack or more a day of cigarettes, it can be a let down because having to constantly charge a battery every 2 - 3 hours. Now I love the Ego *just picked one up from Lost Coast Vaperz* and I dont regret it. Considering dealing with extra stress last weekend, I started smoking 2 packs a day and went back to 1x pack after 3 days but Thursday I bought my final pack and bought the riva ego *each battery lasts 8 - 10 hours* and I have not picked up a pack of cigarettes since.

kr808d-1 for sure. ease of use and realism makes it the best for first-timers in my mind. you don't need to get into dripping, messing with separate attys/carts, no fuss no muss. there are better options in many people's minds, but for a newbie, you just order some batteries and some various pre-filled cartomizers and you're good to go, not too much to think about, learn, or mess up. you might want to order a PCC (personal charging case) with it so you can charge your batteries on the go, but if i were you, i'd just order the cheapest kr808d-1 starter kit you can find with maybe 4 or 5 different pre-filled cartomizer 5-packs to try. that way you can find out if it's for you or not (though most who try it, especially after making a small investment, do like it and stick with it).

myself, i quit smoking the day i got my kr808 kit. some just cut down on regular cigarettes (or analogs as we call them) over time. don't worry if you still feel the need for analogs, it doesn't happen over night for many, but for most, they like their e-cig more and more as time goes by, and like their analogs less and less.

We tried v2cigs.com. We were very pleased with the quality of our starter kit. In fact, in a week both my husband and I were able to quit analogs completely. However, we ran out of cartomizers and they were out of stock of all of them, they couldn't even send all that should have been included in our starter kit. Two weeks later we ran completely out so we started smoking analogs again. They're supposed to be getting a bunch more in stock, but they have so many back ordered it's taking them a long time to send them. We had to go with another supplier so we could get off analogs again.

When you buy a starter kit from a web site that only sells their own brand of e-cig, the prices will usually be much more expensive and the quality will be much less than when you buy brands that are sold at many of the popular e-cig web sites that sell many different brands, liquids, and accessories. And chances are high that you'll end up buying a better e-cig starter kit within the next week or two.

You could spend hours reading the threads here and end up buying the most recommended brand, which is the Joye eGo and is available in different sizes: 650mAh, 750mAh, 900mAh, 1000mAh, 1300mAh. My 1000mAh eGo batteries will last over 12 hours before they need to be recharged. If you know you'll be using cartomizers and not the more time-consuming atomizers and cartridges, Cignot.com has the 900 and 1000mAh batteries and chargers available without having to buy the starter kit. They also have a 650 starter kit. From what I've read here, the 650mAh eGo battery will last an estimated 6 to 8 hours, but the length of time it will last depends on how often you use it.
