I'm almost exclusively with the eGo-t tank system now. Prior to that I had the mega eGo attys and carts. It's my opinion that the filler in the mega eGo carts and cartomizers was a different product than the earlier filler in 510s and other models cartridges. It seems thinner and a bit co....r and didn't clump together as much. And I liked it - I use a modification - the straw mod:

... I use a Johnson&Johnson safety swab shaft for the 'straw' and make diagonal cuts on both ends on the same side - the one on the bottom as indicated in the link and one on the top to keep the top of the straw off the atomizer bridge - and I place it along the rounded side of the cart furthest away from the bridge.

Along with that I use the joye filler as a 'plug' by cutting all but the top 1/4 of the filler so that filler only resides in the top 1/4 of the cart and the rest of the cart well is filled with ejuice. And despite what may seem like a small amount of filler and a straw - there is no leaking - the filler is still good enough for wicking but it doesn't allow ejuice out. The straw is too little in diameter to allow ejuice to come out.

Prior to that I did use blue foam with the same set up - plug only. The trick with blue foam is to cut it slightly larger than the top dimensions of the cart so that there is enough 'spring' in it when placed on the top part of the cart to act as a spring against the cart walls so that it doesn't just slip to the bottom. The atomizer bridge will determine how deep it will go and the larger cut keeps it in place. Both the blue foam and the newer joye filler is less likely to grab any metal mesh on the bridge than the earlier oem filler, imo. The foam is like 'cauterized' to where there is no fibers to grab.

Other ploys that I didn't find workable have been Lipton Tea Bags - pyramid types called "PTB" on the forum. There are several folded configurations that have been suggested and some swear by them but not me. I had one 'top fold' that worked well enough but I find that they dry out and if you happen to have a rather thin PG ejuice, they will leak sometimes leak badly.

There are others but those are the main ones I know. Cartomizers filler is a different topic - I don't use them anymore because of the burning that can occur - the exception is the CE2 cartos that have no filler but have other problems. I'm going to try the Bloog cartos as they have a different coil set up that supposedly is less likely to burn. Should be here tomorrow.
