holy shi.....I didn't knowit can explode the battery. Looks like I'll be getting a non-mech for safety measures.

If you understand the basics, and use good sense, mechanicals are safe.
(There are thousands of people who safely use mechanicals with no problems)

I know a lot of vapers don't want to be "bothered" with learning the basics, however safely shorting a battery to heat a kanthan coil, so you can inhale nicotine vapor requires a bit of education.

Problems arise when people jump on the latest "cool looking" device without thinking.

Using a mech safely is more than just buying a shiny tube and blowing clouds.

How many different versions are there? I'm hearing 350mini, Mini M, and Mini S class
Several.

From my understanding (which is somewhat limited), there's the Mini S class, and the upcoming Mini M class with temp control.

On top of that, YiHi makes other chips, like a standard 350 (different from the 350 Mini!), 330 in variations, and a few others. These chips are used in mods by other manufacturers. For example, Mile High Mods has a pretty nice regulated box using the 350 chip, but no plans currently for a Mini chip box, though they are considering the 350J (the chip with temp control, going into the M class Mini).

Clear as mud, yeah?

Edit: Just googled about it and HOLY SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII !!! I will never buy a mech ever again...since I'm a complete idiot with engineering, wiring, and electric. Have no idea what Ohm is really.

Thanks Bad Ninja, I think you just saved my face from being blow off.

The Provari is an over-priced device that provides sub-par performance. Any device with a YiHi SX350 chip will out perform ANY Provari. That's just a FACT.

It may have more power, but some of us don't need a lot of power for the ideal vape. You are probably ahead of the game if your China mod still works in a year...

How do the SX350 chips hold up to the drop test?

The drop test, or better, the wood chipper test are where the Provari really shines [emoji41]

I realize that you tried a REO but it's still arguably the best.

To those out there that want the great vape of a RBA but don't want the hassle of building.
I found the following solution.

I've gotten lazy and I have my Reomizer 2 double coiled, built to around .24Ohms at my local vape store.
Tip em $5.00 - $7.00 and it lasts over a month.

every week or so I just re-thread the wick [Rayon Fiber]. So not so expensive.

LOL, super confused but ok. Which one is the most popular one? I'll just go with that.

If you want to vape and blow clouds, the Kayfun may not be the best option due to restricted airflow. Some of the newer dual coil rebuildables such as the billow, goblin, and silver play may suit you better, even the Lemo is a great option I use one over the kayfun I had before and it is just as simple to build cause it's based off the same design but has much better airflow and produces better clouds because of it. I am also using that with an IPV Mini 2 which is a 70 watt device that is based off the YiHi SX330V2C chip which is also a great chip and compares nicely to the one in the SX Mini and you can get the IPV for less than half the price of the SX Mini.

Just bought an iStick 50w and will definitely look into the atomizers you've mentioned.

Like Ninja says, there is no "one" best vaping device. I love my mechs, and I have a few regulated devices I use as well. It all depends what you are looking to do. For example, some rebuildables will give you great amounts of vapor but not much flavor. Some will be flavor beasts, but forget fogging up a room. Some will do both acceptably well

I have been in love with my Variant lately, but it is for home use; I rarely take it out with me. Same with my 26650 mech mods. I have been using smallish, powerful regulated mods lately, like the E-Leaf 50w stick along with an Atlantis or a SubTank. Ease of use, I don't have to build, and they have reasonably good flavor. For stepping out, I use my 20w I-Stick with a Nautilus mini, or even a Kayfun.

A couple of years ago, I couldn't imagine myself using a mech mod, then I couldn't imagine using any thing else *but* a mech mod. Like a few others have said, do your research, and figure out what will work for you. You can't hammer a nail with a screwdriver, IOW. Good luck.

The DNA40s seem to be the new great leap forward in terms of technology. But those are all $200 bucks and up, so I would leave that in the high end catorgory. For just a simple to use mod it's very difficult to hate on the new eGo ones, around $60, sub ohm coils with great vapor and flavor.

My personal opinion is the wattage war going on with the Chinese box mods is just plain stupid.

I don't know. Listening to the OP, I'm going to say that a subtank mini or a delta 2 would meet your immediate needs.
Both are airy devices that will blow some clouds and taste good and be a good match with your istick 50w. The subtank mini comes with and RBA deck if you want to play with builds and learn more, and you get buy a separate RBA deck for the delta 2 that would allow you to do the same. But you also have the option of using their coils which work great. Heck rebuilding the coils on the subtank is pretty easy without the rba deck, not so much on the delta 2.

If want you really want is to build, something with a bigger deck, would work better, like a lemo or the like.
But those will be build only type setups.

Personally I have both the subtank mini and the delta 2 and I like them both, though I think the delta performs better.

I do have a CLT v3 to play around with building or if I want to get some bigger clouds.
