What's the consequence of direct-dripping my atty with different flavors?

QUESTION for this wonderful community! :smokie:

I'm a former pipe smoker, and one of the things I learned about pipes early on was that you don't use the same pipes for aromatic tobaccos that you do for traditional tobaccos - as the flavors will be off on both.

Is there a similar concern for attys? If I direct drip my juice onto the atty, and then drip a different flavor, how noticeable is it? Do I need separate attys for separate flavors? Or flavor categories?

Thanks!

For almost all flavors, no. If a flavor is particularly strong (some coffees, some cinnamons, etc.), you can try and vape some unflavored juice in between to help wash the old flavor away. I also never switch flavors until I start to taste the dry atomizer flavor on the vape. I know I have seen some people comment that they have a dedicated coffee atomizers, etc.

Of course, you might discover a delicious flavor combination that you wouldn't have otherwise discovered by switching flavors.

I don't have any attys dedicated to certain flavors. I just vape until the flavor fades out and if I want to change flavors, then I just drip it. The hardest flavors to get out of an atty are strong cinnamon and menthol flavors. So, if you're vaping say Atomic Cinnacide or Fire and Ice, then you might not want to change over to something that will clash like Birthday Cake.

It's probably an individual thing, based on tastes. With dripping, it takes far less time to clear an atty of the previous flavor with another than with cartridges or cartos, even going back and forth between tobacco flavors and non-. (Some may quibble with me about the lingering of certain things like menthol and cinnamon or maybe the weird savories that likely mix poorly with anything--like bacon.) So unless the transition from the last to the next seems just too nasty, I don't worry too much about it. And, if anything, I've gotten more and more lax about it as time has passed.

different attys or just clean the atty before using another juice. You can use alcohol. take off atty and pour some alcohol down the atty a few times and blow out excess into a paper towel. Blow til dry. A couple of minutes, Prime atty with several drops and use. Blow out first couple of hits. very fast method.

The consequence is that you will get a mixture of the flavors for a little while.
How long depends on which flavor was in there previously, and whether or not you blow out the atomizer first.

When I blow out the atomizer completely, the first flavor might be noticeable for one or two drags, or as many as six drags.
When I don't blow out the aomizer, the first flavor might be noticeable for much longer.

I generally just drip a new flavor over an old one because mine are complimentary for the most part.

Now when it comes to something like atomic cinnacide, I will always blow out my atomizer first, and it will still last quite awhile.
The good thing is that cinnamon goes well with almost everything else I like to vape.

But if I want to follow atomic cinnacide with something like caramel popcorn, well, I just don't do that.
In that case I might use a bridge flavor like caramel apple or bananas foster before moving to caramel popcorn.

Oh, the other thing I forgot to mention is that you can blow out your atomizers as well. Take it off, clean the threads off (there might be some liquid in the threads), put the threaded end between your lips and blow through it hard into a napkin.

I find it works better blowing on the non-threaded end. Seems to clean out more juice.
