So I have been experimenting with menthol and I have had some success but nothing I would bother sharing, and to be honest the only useful thing I have found using menthol concentrate for is to add to other blends to shape and smooth them by using 1-2 drops per 5-10ml.

Now bear in mind I did not smoke menthol analogs, from memory the last time I would have sampled a real menthol analog was over 15 years ago, so the only menthol I have to compare at present is the HC menthol, which seems ok for what it is, but its not right for my tastes.

I have experimented with creme de menthe and peppermint bases and then adding the concentrate to suit. These taste ok, but being mint based it, can be too much. Am I on the wrong track here, should I be using a non mint base, maybe something like RY4 to build on?

So much information has been read I am now lost, haha.

Thanks in advance

Are you looking for a pure menthol taste or a menthol tobacco taste, like a menthol cigarette? If you're looking for a menthol cigarette I would suggest starting with a base of tobacco. Maybe even a little bit could take the edge off pure menthol. RY4 sounds like a good base, or a more subtle tobacco flavoring. I don't mix my own juices, but I know adding menthol tobacco to other non tobacco flavors can achieve a light menthol great tobacco taste. I know there are some good menthol tobacco juices other there that people make and sell if all else fails. Just speculating...good luck!
