I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here. When I first got it, I was getting puny little puffs of smoke, then like the next day I was getting thunderheads out of the thing, and then I accidentally broke the atomizer. I don't know how it broke, maybe I dropped it or something, but it went into pieces.

So now, two weeks later, I finally get a new atomizer, and I'm getting little puny clouds. I've got an RN4081 too, and I can get more vapor out of this thing than I can out of the DSE 801. What's the trick to getting this thing working PROPER? I thought I had it figured out until I broke the thing. Now I've got new parts and can't figure it out. Frustrating.

well i got new batteries too and I let the first one charge for the initial 12 hours, then hooked it up to the new atomizer, put a fresh filled cartridge, and puff, puny......

Two weeks ago when I first got the starter kit it was doing the same thing for a day, and then it started giving me thunder clouds, and then I broke it. I have no idea what I did the first time to get it to really produce vapor.

Well, I don't know if this is what's wrong with yours, but I've found that the 4 hole atomizers that I had don't work on anything I have that takes an 801 atomizer. I have a SD with an adapter, a mini pipe, a Janty Kissbox, USB passthroughs, njoys, and unnamed '801' style batteries.

When I switched to the BCE112 atomizers which are the same as the older-style 2 hole 801 atomizers, everything worked.

i have said it before ... and i will say it again... I'm a firm believer in the idea that atomizers need a "break in" period , my latest 801 was wimpy for about 1 to 2 days , then i got clouds of vapor and a monster throat hit... give it some time
Gotta agree with that. It took me about the time it took to get rid of the primer taste for my atomizers to really produce a good vapor. I found it with 901 and 801 attys. The only one that didn't seem to need a break in was the 801 atomizer I got from Juicy and that could have been that my husband has a much stronger draw than I do.

I have been using a 801 for months and the key is, when you fill the carts, take a pick (cuclicale remover from manacure set) and go down the side of the cart wool and fill your cart to the top and fluff your wool even with the top of the cart. Change wool or clean after 2 or 3 refills. Need air to help the wicking and get the big cart full. Packed wool don't wick good.

I am on my first day with the 801 and love it. When I first started puffing I was ...... about the wimpy vapor I was getting. I since then have thrown out the filled carts and now just drip and couldn't be happier.

The trick I found that works great is to take mini puffs until it start to smoke then take a nice long slow drag and you will get the huge clouds of vapor that you see on youtube.

I am totally impressed with how much smoke this thing gives off. If you smoke it like a regular cig you will be disappointed. I found it take a bit of practice to get your technique down.

I know you will love your 801 once you get the hang of it.

yeah with dripping it works fine, but like two weeks ago before I broke the first atomizer, I had it working WITH the cartridges as well. Dripping is fine for just sitting around, but when I'm out and about, I don't want to risk having a little plastic bottle of ejuice busting in my pocket.

So how do I get the cartridges to work?

Also it is pertinent to make sure that the cart fits your atomizer snugly. If not you get to much air intake, & it produces wimpy vapor. I found this out while ordering carts from different suppliers that are supposedly 901 carts to save on shipping costs for spare supply, you would think they all fit properly......WELL they don't all fit snug. Best bet is to order your carts from the same place you ordered your atty from...
