Those are not my sentiments ( well, the shiny part....I'm kinda there..more of a matte finish guy, but I digress), but I have been reticent on occasion about the "cleaning" and "shining" part of the vaping equation on occasion.
Most recently, I've been busy. Lots going on, lots to do, little time to do regular cleaning and maintenance on my Stealth. Over the past couple of weeks, I've noticed it has leaked on occasion, but more importantly the vapor production was diminished.
coils were not lasting well, and the quantity of vapor ( not to mention the quality) had slipped.Things finally came to a head yesterday; a brand new coil, and a good one at that. A new bottle of juice, put the coil in, fill it up, tighten everything down...vape. Only all I got was this thin, "vaporous" poof from it...sort of reminiscent of an Ego battery on it's last legs.
It ...... me off..."This (*&)*&*)& thing...all that money and now it's not working right, *)*&^&*^)&....you get the picture. I tore it all apart, determined to get to the bottom of the problem. That's where I found it...the problem, that is...at the bottom.
I took the bottom cap off, and the spring was compressed, partially collapsed and grungy. Then, I disassembled the button completely. Same thing inside...crud on everything.
All of the compenents then went for a bath with a denture cleaning tab, followed by a scrubbing with an old toothbrush, warm water and elbow grease.
Stealth reassembled, I built yet another coil, filled everything up, put in a new battery and took a drag...BAM!!! HUGE cloud of fog...my baby was performing right again!
Here's my point...even though your mod may still work, crud builds up on the swtich, especially inside where you can't see it easily. same thing in the tailcap/spring. It still works, but the crud does interupt enough of the current to make things unreliable.
Clean contacts are CRITICAL. If your GG is not performing quite as well as you remember...it's DIRTY. It needs a BATH.
I have now added this to my weekly list of things that must be done...just like cheking the oil and tire pressure on the truck. A little bit of preventative maintenance goes a very long way!
