What's this about

I'm not using this rta anymore, I got the vandy vape bonza and love it. When I took this one apart I rinsed off and put it in hot water to soak, repeating once or twice. I did this because it was giving off a very metallic taste.
Now it's come out like this...

Edit: it didn't look like this when I took it apart to clean it

Looks like those grubs are not stainless.

Remove the grubs and wash it again with a little brush and that residue should come right off.

Do you have spare grubs you can swap in after the spa treatment?

this is also possible though to me it’s looking like it’s leaking out of the threads.

I have the replacement ones that came with it. I expect they would have the same issue. It's the smok baby beast rta btw so I guess cheap manufacturing wouldn't be a surprise

If you soak it in Coke or lemon juice that rust will come right off....
