Hey everyone, anyone. I appreciate the simple registration process.
Someone told me this was great site for questions as most of the people here are skilled and experienced at vaping, about the equip and several other vaping things. I'm trying to figure everything I can out by myself.(bad idea for me)!
I've been vaping for over 2 years now! She said to come here so I told her I would and see bout getting a lil help with a few questions. I think I'm so confused about some of the things right now because I've been doing things so long, prob the wrong way, so things may have become a habit.
I really think I need knowledgeable, smart and experienced folks! I'm just not that good at this s*#t yet and she said you all were great.
So, any help I can get is appreciated, greatly. Y'all can ever rag me all ya want at this point!
Again, appreciate the ez registration process and I want to ask a question but I read I had to do something 5 times 1st. Not sure if I read that right though?(see, told ya I needed smart people!)
Thanks! If I can ask a question now, can someone let me know? And tell me where to do it? Thanks again everyone!

Oh! Ok, ok then, no problem. Wow, well, y'all are fast!
So, heres an important question I got.
I bought "pioneer4you" and the "smok tfv4" kit for it. Its the 2nd tfv4 I bought as I broke the 1st one after couple months. I liked the 1st one eough that when I broke it, I bought a 2nd. But this 2nd one leaks like crazy. I finally found the leak-at the 4 holes at the bottom of the tfv4 tank! One or two of them is leaking bad!
Getting on my hands, clothes, the pioneer, etc, etc!

The new one came in a box with some stuff. Cotton, 3 coils, you know, triple and quad coil and an rda that I know nothing about whatsoever! I use the triple and quad. Worked fine on the 1st one, only lil bits of leaking seldom here and there with that one.(but I broke it, duh!, stupid)
Anyway, it also came with these 2 rubber type top circle pieces that you load the juice through. Also came with 2 clear rubber o rings? Not sure if those would help me with the absurd leak or not or where they even go!
It only started leaking like this yesterday. Think this new one is defective? I don't. I think its something I'm not doing, like its fixable but I dont what or how to correct the issue.
Thanks for being sooo fast y'all! I totally understand if nobody knows whats going on, I should already prob know what to do! Thanks again!

I know exactly what you are talking about, I have one! I tried one of the factory coils, ONCE! It bled all over the place! Then I got out the rba deck and it took me several builds before I got it to quit leaking! Not my favorite tank.
Make sure the o-ring is on the bottom of the new coil, where it threads in, take the coil out and make sure there isn't gunk and crude in the base of it. If you still have the base from the broken tank put it on the new tank and see if it still leaks.

Yeah I have that same tank as you, it leaked and I gave up on it. I never asked anyone if it could be fixed, just kept it in case I decided to buy a deck for it someday and do my own builds on it. But to me, those factory coils sucked.. anything is my preference to that..

Perhaps someone can tell us both how to fix it!

Welcome to ECF! Nice to meet you!

Sure ask away. That will be your second post. Discuss your question here a few times and you'll have your 5 posts before you know it. Then you can go to any subforum you like for more specific info if needed.

We did away with the 5 post rule nearly a year ago.

Welcome to ECF, @marcpilot1

I have the TFV4, two mini's, a TFV8, and the TF-RTA G2. Maybe I have just been lucky, but no problems with the TFV4's with stock coils. But did want to mention a big leak problem I had with the TFV8 when I first got it. Anxious to get it going, I didn't check it out very well and it leaked pretty bad. Tore it down to find one o-ring was totally missing. Put one in from the parts bag and all was good. Check it closely and make sure one wasn't left out or there might be one missing or bad on the base of that coil. There are also some videos on Utube on these leaking that might be worth checking out.

Good luck. As you can see, these are some off my favorite tanks.

Thx Opinionated. Good to meet u as well and all of the rest of y'all so far! I'm feelin lil better about it everything now, all asking people I don't know questions, trying to get info and stuff. It didn't quite seem right in a way, but you all are good to go! Thx!
I know not too many friends of mine are even vaping yet. Huh? Wuwt? Weird. Freakin die hards man! I guess? Waitin on something before they give it a shot, but what, I'm not sure of! So I never really had access to a lot of people to get with about vaporing and stuff. I've been vaporizng 3 or 4 years now, cig free about a week after starting too, and I never looked back! It was like way back when, about right when sub ohms started. Maybe 4 years ago or so, I think?
Anyway, now that someone hooked me up with this forum, I'm feelin good about it even more than ever before. It's pretty slammin here y'all and I def appreciate the help so far!

So now, back to vapor stuff:

I think Sawlight's saying to take the new one off and clean any crud or gunk off the bottom? Then make sure one of those rubber clear looking o-rings is at the bottom after that? If not, I slap one on? Then, put the the thing back together, nice n clean with a fresh o-ring, then back on the pioneer4you, check for leaks, blast off! I think I can handle it Saw!

But, before I did that, I think you wanted me to try the older tanks base part, because the old wasn't having freaking leaking issues? I guess that would help narrow down what's wrong somewhat, without tearing the new tank apart? I think ol sawlight's wantin me to troubleshoot a lil 1st, before taking the entire tank apart, like, start with the easiest thing 1st. I believe thats what he's thinkin.

I can actually do that, I'm thinking, because when I dropped the pio4you, only the top piece on the old tank(the part that swings open to refill liquid on the top of the glass cylinder)broke. So I assume I can just slap that top swinging piece onto the old one from the new one, clean, slap a new o-ring at the bottom, a new refill circle in the top of the tank, slap that back on the pio4you, fill with liquid, check for leaks, Blast off? Correct? Thats prob what Sawlight's sayin.

Opinionated and I may have a lil fix on our hands now saw! I'll certainly get back w y'all and let ya know one way or the other. Thanks again!
You too Sawlight. I'll get on it asap man and lyk what happens, for sure.

Ok, I got it now! Seems simple once you figure it out. Thanks for all that help!
My particular leak was from the bottom of the tank. I thought it was coming out of the vent holes but now I think it was coming out somewhere else down there.
So I took it all apart, cleaned everything up really good. Then, you guys told me about the little clear gasket at the bottom. So I couldn't find it and threw one in from the box that the kit was in.
I was happy, thinking I had it now because it was obviously leaking since there was no rubber gasket. Wrong! I threw the gasket in but I couldn't get the thing to screw back together! I fought and fought till I bout broke the glass! Frustrated, I quit for while.
When I came back to it, I noticed there was one in there! It was just tight under the bottom there and you cant really see it. No wonder it wouldn't close up. I had a 2nd gasket over the original one already in there.
So I took a sharp Ice Pick looking tool, got the original out of there and put the new one in, put it all back together with a new quad coil and no leaks. Nothing! Not even a tiny drip!

Thanks for the help! I got a couple more questions for y'all but I don't wanna burn you all out so I'll wait a week or so. Again, thanks, I would've NEVER figured that crap out without y'alls help, there's NO WAY!

....Shucks.. I missed this whole thing... :) No, there are several of us around here that actually LIKE to answer questions.. To be honest, I look first at the new members forum in hopes of helping someone.

The RBA head included in one of them, is where you can make your own coil. The beauty of your setup, is if you have two TFV4's, you can experiment with coil buildings while still vaping.. and if you want to give it a break, just slap a regular coil in and go back to it when you have the time and patience. It's not the easiest coil base to work with, but it is still very easy. Building coils is cost effective, since it costs $5 for the wire, and maybe $5 for some cotton, and you have enough to rebuild that coil head at least 30 times whereas one of the premade coils can run about $2 each. Of course there is a learning curve, but let it be known you have that option.

Anyways, I look forward to answering any questions you might have.

I got a couple TFV4's and I've been rebuilding my attys for over 3 years and that darn thing likes to leak. Its a finicky atty that requires exact wicking. I haven't used any of the stock heads but the single RBA is not bad to wick but the dual RBA is a pain and after several times of rewicking and leaking I gave up. Both my TFV's now sit on my desk with nice builds in them but no wicking, maybe one day I'll revisit them and try again.
