I have a love hate relationship with the smell of smoke. Sometimes I like it, but the other day I opened my door to a smoking neighbor standing there and it just hit me ACKK!! Then I was in the car with a friend and I liked the smell. But at my Mom's house I can definitely get ill from all the odor of her stinky sticks. I am now wondering if it is the different brands that affect me differently.

LOL at Ferretmaster and I definitely smell the dogs now and their butts on my couch. No more dogs on the couches!

I don't ever wish to turn into one of those non-smokers who say such tacky things to a smoker. I just feel bad for them. My husband, who quit cold turkey 5 years ago, never did that to me and never gave me instructions on where I can or can't smoke. He is just so thrilled that I don't smoke anymore. I am too!:toast: Haven't had one in 34 days. Hooray! That's something to whoop and holler over! I've never done this before. And, looking back on it all, it wasn't that difficult with this devise. I am applauding the folks at the Joye 510 factory and to the people I purchased it from. They are so very nice. Praise God!

I don't want to be like that either. My hubby was like that, until he liked me LOL. I think things like peeU in my head but I don't say it out loud. I know how it is to feel like they do when people are jerks.

I think I'm just so in love with vaping, it has replaced my previous addiction with a stronger one. Not so much that the actual vapor is a more addicting substance, its the entire act of it. I love tinkering with my supplies, trying out different juices, and feeling healthier. I know for a fact I'd never own a tackle box full of cigarettes, but I have one full of vaping gear.

Yes, it really is fun to play with mixing different juices-reorganizing the vaping gear-( argg-how did I get all this stuff and where to keep it neatly) deciding (hopefully) on what one wants next to order or learn about.

It's the "playing part" that keeps me as involved as the actual vaping.
Good to hear another person admit that vaping is more of an addiction, than the smoking analogs was.

I was a smoker for 15 years, then I quit for 10... unfortunately, a really horrible, horrible year happened. (Several bad things over the course of the year) and I was out fishing with the guys, having a few beers, and the cigar my friend was smoking smelled just to good to pass up. So, I asked him for one, (more like insisted), he caved and I went right back to cigar smoking. Luckily, I found this place, and all these helpful people, and all this wonderful advice, and I know this is a step in the right direction. I may still be a nicotine feind, but now everyone around me doesn't have to deal with the smoke! It's a good thing!

growing up, our house was always full of cigarette smoke. i spent my whole life surrounded by it. i started smoking when i was 13. after i started vaping i realized something.... i really never new that cigarettes smelled bad!!!! now i know! lol. there are a million things that smell different to me now, heck i don't even like my perfume anymore! LOL. and food taste soooo much better, guess thats why i've gained weight :( well at least i can breathe to be able to exercise, now just to get around to it........

I like the smell if there is air circulating. However, it does drive me nuts if it's in an enclosed space. One of the things I hated was waking up in the morning and walking out into the living room and smelling the stale smoke. Used to make me nuts.

Maybe some day I will hate the smell...but right now when I walk by someone smoking...it still smells like yum.

I don't mind the smell but it is very noticeable when others at work sneak out or just come back from break. Some days the smoking area is intolerable, other days it isn't. Outside with a breeze isn't too bad. Bars/Restaurants/Malls I go in expecting to run into it at the doorways. Clouds of smoke, I've had to make a joke or excuse myself and walk away. There are days where they will walk past and I have the instant urge to smoke. It doesn't smell good, and I tried and didn't make it past one analog drag since starting. But it is still very much a trigger.

As for turning into 'one of those anti-smokers' it isn't going to happen. Before I smoked I was like that. Now in hindsight I can say that having gone through the harassment and shunning, knowing what it is like has changed my perspective. That is probably the biggest motivator not to turn all WTFBBQ on smokers. Smoking is a coping mechanism. I understand why people do it. If they are really smelling bad, I have pulled a few aside or dropped a polite but direct comment that they might want to freshen up. I always appreciated when my non-smoking friends told me when it got bad. I pass that forward to those who smoke and aren't hyper-sensitive. Smokers still deserve respect since they are already demonized enough. :)

Once in the past my wife and I realized how much our home smelled like smoke when we went out to eat and came back in. We decided to start putting our cigarette butts in a metal coffee can and keeping the lid on to prevent the ash tray smell.

After a few days, the can smelled so bad that we couldn't stand to take the lid off anymore. That was a failed attempt. We stuck with the FeBreeze and started smoking next to the stove exhaust hood with the fan on.

Luckily, ecigs finally solved that problem for good.

Or when we would go on vacation and be gone a whole week. I was only allowed to smoke in my media room in our last house, and boy would that smell hit me in the face after a week of being gone. No problem, smoke a few cigarettes in there and it would smell just fine again! It must have been the STALE smoke. The fresh stuff was no problem.

I seriously dislike the smell of cigarettes now and particularly the stale smoke smell. The really odd thing is that I start sneezing and my nose runs if I am exposed to cigarette smoke for more than a few minutes..even outside?!

We had a smoking friend come stay with us for a few days recently. Even though she smoked outside, I could still smell it in the room where she stayed due to her clothes and suitcase reeking of smoke. Even the sheets she slept on smelled like smoke when I changed them after her stay.

I never said anything to her, nor would I. I distinctly remember what it was like to smoke and how hard it was to quit without vaping.

I have tried to convert her to vaping but she is just not interested.

I've only had 1 hit off a cig since quitting. It was about the 30 day mark. I had to have 3-4 fast slugs of a strong beer (Shiner Bock) to get rid of the awful taste. Coughed my head off too.

I'm in bars and around smokers all the time, but for some reason now the smell of smoke has stopped bothering me as much as that 1st month.

Since I vape out my nose a lot (where I taste the flavor the most) my smeller is probably whacked now.
