I have the Joye ego-T and have as of yet to experience the leaking issue (lucky I guess!) The tanks I picked up from The Vapor Room.net | Vaporize Nicotine | E Cig Atomizers didn't have the sealed top on them. They already had the hole, so I didn't have to pre-punch the tank on the atomizer. Sounds like that may not be the norm?

The only issue I've had with my Ego-T is that I think I put the atomizer on the battery too tight, and for a while I was getting this horrible burnt taste/smell. Now I have to make sure the atty is loose on the battery. Sometimes I have to play with it to find the sweet spot depending on the juice I'm using.

Other than that I've been pretty happy with the tank. Lasts longer than the cartos, and I like the flavor of the juice better.

Next up I hope to try a clearomizer I picked up a while back.

This is such an awesome thread! I'm expecting my new ego to get here sometime in the next few days, and I'm stoked to get away from the piece of crap I have now. I've heard some things about the pg/vg ratios affecting how well it wicks, anybody had any issues with this so far?
carlyawesome, you WILL enjoy the ego, I'm sure of it! I find it's a little more difficult to draw with VG only juice in the eGo-C, but not impossible. So far it appears as if clear 70pg/30vg juices work best for me but having said that I've tried about 10 different flavours/types of juice and everything works. I havent bothered to change attys yet either, just pop out the old tank and in with the new. It takes a half dozen or so vapes before the old flavours start to disappear but I don't mind, it's a convenient system. Enjoy and post your own findings.

I swear I have tracked this package at least once an hour since I ordered it, and almost every spare second I have has been spent trying to figure out what juice I want, do I want to try a clearomizer, etc. I suffer from excruciating second-guessing syndrome, so I hope it really is as rad as everyone keeps saying! If you have any good suggestions for me I'd love to hear them!

I am enjoying my Ego C enormously. I doubt it has been out of my hand for more than 15 minutes unless asleep since I got it lol

Yeah it can be a pain at times but those points of pain are more to do with me learning than the device.

I am not going to suggest a juice as that is highly subjective however I would suggest not rushing into judging a juice immediately. The then new juices I ordered last week that I didn't like I have been trying over the last day or so and either a weeks steeping or my taste changing means that they are all pretty good.

Order different types. I thought I would prefer the diary style, you know chocolate, coffee and cream, and the like rather than fruit but so far fruit has it. must say that I am vaping a Vanilla Malt at the moment though and thoroughly enjoying it.

Oh if you haven't gone through this before order a range of nicotine strengths. As I smoked Lights I thought 12mg nic would be fine but I find I need 18 - 24mg to satisfy the cravings. Not that the 12mg is going to waste as I just vape more with it to get to where I need to be.

As said my issues are self made with this device. I am at work usually between 10 - 12 hours a day and so I ordered the 1000 mAh batteries. Given that the wife stole one means that I am struggling to make it through the day with one. I ordered the Ego mod using an 18650 battery, well 2 of them, so that will alleviate that issue.

Just be patient. Realise you are on a learning curve and the kind people here will help with any question.

I assumed I would need 24mg, I smoke about a pack of lights a day and I was going through so many 11mg carts it would make your head spin! I've tried a variety of stuff from the company I got my original kit from and like you'd expect some were good and some weren't, but they really only offered about nine or ten flavors if that, and they didn't sell any juice at all, just prefilled. By comparison, I'm overwhelmed with options now, from pot roast to dill pickle to cake batter and grapple! It's alot to take in! I'm super stoked you guys offer such good feedback, what better way to learn than from someone who's been where you are!

Carlyawesome, welcome to the discussion.

I'm about the same... I was a 1 pack a day Marlboro Light smoker (either shorts of 100s, didn't matter). I use 24mg liquid, and been off analogs for almost two weeks.

I'm using liquid from Pink Spot (my local eCig shop sells them) and Backwoods Brew. I believe these are a good portion of VG versus PG.... on Pink Spot, it can be anywhere from 70/30 VG/PG to 50/50 from what I understand. I've had no wicking issues on any juice so far.

I do occasionally get analog cravings even on 24mg. I just hit it hard until they subside using the techniques on the beginner's tutorial on this site (hold vapor in mouth, inhale, exhale slowly through nose). Vapor is different than smoke, it takes some time for the nicotine to get into your bloodstream. This can be a learning curve when you're at work on a "smoke break" and are used to having an analog and getting that quick nicotine fix. I find it can take 5 to 10 minutes before I get a satiated feeling if I haven't vaped in a few hours.

Also, I found that getting a liquid with a very strong smoky flavor and throat hit helps (one that comes to mind is Pink Spot Honey Cured Tobacco, my first juice, which has a super hard TH for me).

Finally, you'll be happy with your eGo-C... it is a good quality base system with a world of options. Everybody is different, and what works well for you may not for others. That's the fun... finding out what works well for YOU.

Hi everyone, thought I might put in my :2c: since I haven't been around in a while. After the big meet in Atlanta, I got an eGo-C setup, and really enjoy it. I won't say it's better or worse than my dual coils cartos, just different. As far as leaking, I get a few drops in there when I refill my tank, but nothing to lose any sleep from. I don't pop off the cap, I use a blunt tip syringe to fill mine, no muss no fuss. I have the clear tanks, and when I tip it up (mouthpiece down) and see an air bubble I refill, from what I heard it can leak if you overfill or let it get too low. After a couple of weeks I still don't have any big leaking issues, but I have noticed the atty gets a bit weak. That may just be me. I'll keep a few cartos around and still use them some, but I like the hit I get from the C a bit better, no filler taste that I get with some flavors, usually the cake type ones, cheesecake, red velvet, etc. And I have had much better luck with the C than the T, haven't had a T atty last more than 1 week, and that was 1 out of 4, the others died after about 1 hr. Well, enough from me, good luck with your eGo's.

Wow, great thread about the eGo-C. I just got one less than a week ago and am still going through a learning curve. I didn't even know that the tops of the tanks could be removed; thought you had to fill them through the little hole. So I discovered a little trick and now I don't have to remove the caps. I take a Q tip and cut the end off so I have a piece of the stem about an inch long. The stem is hollow. One end fits in the top of the juice bottle; the other end goes through the hole in the cap. Problem solved.

Still got a bit of a leak issue. Didn't even realize it at first. It's not a lot, maybe a quarter mil or so, but that's still 25% of the amount in the tank. I think I'll experiment a bit with some of the suggestions made in this thread - lighter draws (although I don't quite get what that has to do with leakage), screwing the tank around after inserting, not filling as much. Sounds like some people have problems, some don't.

Also I wonder if the type of juice will make a difference. I've been strictly 100% PG since I started vaping a few months ago. I understand VG is thicker and hence might not leak as bad. Wondering if anyone has any experience on this point. I think I'll like my eGo if I can just keep most of the juice in the tank.

Also, I was wondering-is it better to hold the eGo pointing slightly down when drawing to make sure the atty is in the liquid?

lighter draws (although I don't quite get what that has to do with leakage)

I'm not sure but I think the suction created by hard draws pulls more liquid through the wick than the coil can vaporize.

is it better to hold the eGo pointing slightly down when drawing to make sure the atty is in the liquid?

Generally speaking, gravity is definitely your friend as it keeps the liquid in contact with the wick but it's usually fine to hold it horizontal when drawing because the wick typically holds enough juice for at least several draws. Extended chain vaping is another matter, though. :)
