Hey guys,

So i finally got my 28 ga A-1 yesterday and i decided to try to build the dragon coil following RIPTRIPPER's tutorial.

14 wraps on each side slanted up.

And i used this needle to wrap my coils around

I am using vtc4 fully charged on a stingray clone and igo-w.

Its not making enough vapor fro what it looked like and and its looks like its having a hard time heating up the coil.

Thanks!

Looks like there is a little too much wick by the opening where the vapor comes out. But that's my only opinion based off of what I can see in this picture. Are both coils firing up evenly at the same time?

Yeah but very lightly. It takes a while for the coils to heat up

That's a lot of cotton. Are your connections secure/tight? What ohm is the build. Higher ohms will take longer to heat up on a mech if your using that many wraps. I like 28 guage 6 wraps 5/32 bit.

Yeah all my connections are tight. And i believe about .7 ohm.

IMHO Chimney coils will only work when the air flow goes through the coil itself. Judging from the first photo, the coils are getting hot enough to turn the surrounding cotton brown but without air flow hitting the coil you have no vapor.

For a flat deck like you have, try building 2 28ga horizontal coils w/ 11 - 12 wraps on a 2mm screw driver. Then wick through the coil with your cotton. Make sure your coils are in front of the air holes and see if it works that way. You should find that it will work much better...

BTW; With my Igo-W, it didn't come alive until I drilled out the air holes to 1/16"

I had mine drilled. So are you saying that the dragon coil wont work on my igo w because its a flat deck? Could i try it on my tobh atty? And alright thanks ill try that im just trying to get the most vapor with the most flavor :)

Way too much cotton for dragon wicking. I wouldn't even have cotton on that side of the deck where the coil is tilted up. Wrap 2/3 of the coil that's pointed down at the deck. Leave the last 1/3 of the coil open and free of all the cotton. You have to give the vapor a place to escape.

Check out Youtube "Trevor Jones" look at his "Dragon Coil" video

or try Rip's single twisted 28 gauge coil....I LOVE duals but this is one of my favorites !
