What's Wrong With Vaping Vendors?

I posted this in the pet hates thread, but in any other hobby / leisure activity I've ever taken part in, the vendors for said hobby ran their businesses as such. I'm close to one month into vaping, and so far it seems that many vendors don't take their business seriously at all. In my humble opinion, unless it's something super custom like an APV / mod, or custom mixed juice, then a week without even processing my order is simply unacceptable in today's world. I guess I'm going to have to start a spreadsheet for vendors so I'll know where to vote with my wallet.

Second that, maybe you're just dealing with the wrong vendors. I've dealt with at least 8 different vendors in the short time I've been back into vaping, and all of them have shipped really quickly. I've pretty much assumed that's the norm, I'm waiting in many cases on a product that I'm addicted to lol. I'm not inclined to be patient anyway but definately not for ecig related stuff. But OP you are correct about voting with your wallet , there are A LOT of choices, no reason you shouldn't pick vendors that meet your expectations.

I have only been at this for a short while, but I have actually already placed multiple orders with gotvapes.com because they're so fast and it ships same day 99% of the time. I have just placed my 3rd order with them in the span of a week and a half. 2 orders have already been received, just waiting on the 3rd which was just placed last night. I expect it to be here by Wednesday or Thursday at the latest.

Hello Wn,

I am sure it is frustrating. I have had some dealings with a few over the years too.
Most vendors I deal with are very serious about their businesses and act and process orders accordingly.
I am very happy with the ones I deal with now..

Hang in there and do business with the ones you find that are serious, as you say about getting orders out quickly..

For the most part they are doing a very good job..

Making a spreadsheet is a great idea and works. I started out with one just to break down $/mL of juices, then added a comment section for customer service and things I did or didn't like about the experience. Then I even started to add hardware since I started noticing QA issues with my first few sets of Stardust clearomizers.

Now I know who to go to with what I need, and when I can expect to receive it.

I want to add a footnote to my original post:

Once the order is out the vendor's door their time should stop and the carrier's time should start (usually USPS in the US).

So to clarify my first post:
Vendor time varies from same day to next day (or Monday).
Carrier time varies from next day (it has happened) to 3 days. Vendor has no control over this.
Total time, 5 days max.

This is, of course, assuming all items are in stock.

Worst experience I've ever had in this regard is an order that is shipping tomorrow that I placed last Tuesday with VapeDudes. However, I've ordered from VapeDudes many times before, and this is sort of a fluke for them... they have been spectacular, both in speed and customer service before, so I'm sure it was something they really couldn't control.

That said... I really wish I had my extra eGo Twist right now... :p

A spreadsheet is a wonderful idea, but I would check the reviews as it may have just been a fluke. So if you are thinking about a certain vendor, you can look up their problems and how they were resolved before you order. For instance, one of the vendors listed above gets some bad reviews, their customer service is lacking, yet some people just love them. I do not. Another vendor didn't send my stuff out for 4 days. To me, that is unacceptable, EVER, without said vendor contacting me about a problem. That item took 10 DAYS to get to me, and it was my fault for not checking their bad reviews first. I just won't order from those 2 vendors again unless it is something I absolutely can't get anywhere else, which isn't going to happen considering all vendors are ordering from China. One vendor gets all crazy with it and renames stuff so you may THINK they are exclusive (which they like to claim) when it is just their name that is.

VapeDudes clearly stated when I ordered from them that there was a 72 hour turn around time, so when I chose to order I went in knowing that, and wouldn't order hardware like the above poster did from them until they could catch up on their orders. At least they do disclose that unlike some do.

Will you be publishing your spreadsheet so we can see your experiences?

Agree with the others. I only use a select few now but at first I was ordering from multiple vendors when i was trying to find the right juice and equipment. All of them were fast and efficient. Never a bad experience although I think I found most of them here on the forum. Either from the supplier threads or the review threads.

I think most do very well at shipping right away. A lot of the time when Ive gotten something late I get a little something extra an atty a drip tip or something. My pet peeve is when they give you a date and then another date then another date. Id rather just they just tell me before I agree to purchase that it will be a month or something and let me decide. Not take me hostage! I dont mind waiting if its something I want but Id like it to be my choice not theirs.
