What's your best Ego setup?

Just got my new Ego and I'm wondering what everybodies best set up is? I've just come over from the kr808 and so far I'm somewhat underwhelmed with the vape. So far I've just used the standard setup (stock carts and atomizers). I've toyed with dripping just using an empty cart as a drip tip and it's ok, but not crazy vapor. This is also my first time with carts as opposed to Cartos and so far it seems like a total pain. It's almost like I have to add juice as often as when I'm dripping.

What do you guys think? I've ordered an adapter for my extra kr808 Cartos because I really like the vape from those, although I haven't yet used the Ego Cartos yet. I've heard some bad thing about those on here. Anyways, just hoping for some ideas from experienced users on how to get more vapor, and have a little less hassle. Thanks as always guys!

I only drip, I like the metal drip tips, the liquid slides down better. I get great flavor and lots of vapor and all I have to do is fill a 3 ml bottle up in the morning and I am good to go for the day. But since you are use to cartos the adapter seems like the way to go for you since you already have your cartos.

Unlike cartos, atomisers require seasoning (break in period). They will eventually loosen up after a couple of hrs and some sometimes take a day or two (depending where they are from), be patient with them. Are you using the eGo with the cone?

I am using the standard ego setup with the blue foam mod for the carts. The blue foam seems to wick better and doesn't create the burnt filler taste.

Its a simple mod. In fact I wouldn't even call it a mod. I just replace the white polyfil with a similar size piece of blue foam.
Specifically it is the Marineland, rite size U foam used in aquarium filters and found at many petstores, but not Walmart.


With the blue foam, the initial fill usually holds about 11 drops. After that, about 7 drops per refill. I will drop in 5 drops, then lift the foam slightly with a paper clip and then push it back down in the cart. That allows another drop or two to go in.

On average, I have to refill the cart after about 35-40 minutes of fairly steady vaping.

As far as vapor production, I get tons. It may be just your attys. I have a few under-performers that have a light, airy draw with about half the vapor of the good ones. They were that way from new.

Keep us posted on how the Kr808 adaptor and cartos work.

If you want excellent performance using an eGo I would get these-

LR 306 Atomizer + Drip Tip Package - VaporFlow

They are AWESOME!
I normally vape 24mg at 6v and it has been a long time since I have gotten a nicotine rush. I had to put the eGo down after 5 minutes of vaping with these lr 306s. After gettign these I actually use my eGo again!

As far as cartos go I really like these-

Refillable 510 Cartomizers

Add a drip tip and you g2g. They perform very well and last a long time as far as cartos go.

Hey guys, thanks as always for the awesome advice. I've got my drip tip and adapter on the way for me from HappyVaper here in Canada. I'm looking forward to trying dripping "for real". Anybody try these drip tips? Canadian electronic cigarette Happy/Joye 510 eGo, Anodized aluminum, wide mouth, contoured Super-T T-Tips! I know they're expensive, but I figure I shouldn't need anymore for a while. I tried out my other atomizer that I got with my Ego and it seems to produce a lot more vapor than the first one I tried. Seems a little weird. I'm also going to try out the LR ones at some point. What do you guys mean when you say 306? Is that a different model?

Honestly, I can drip happily with an empty cart without the foam, I just take the cart off and put 3 drips in. The key is knowing when you need 3 more drips. You will get the feel for it. The taste is somewhat metallic. If you have the burnt taste, it is definitely too dry. I removed my wicks and drip. do a youtube search for "how to remove the wick in the atty. watch the first of second video (phee) is the videomaker.

Also, I picked up a second charger, and each night I charge both, and I keep one ego with a cartomizer, and I switch off. I drip with different flavors, and use the other ego with my all day vape in the cartomizer. I like my LR atty the best for dripping with my ego.

A cart holding 7 drips seems kind of funny when my xl ce2 cartomizer holds about 60 drips. I have abandoned my carts, except you use them when I cant find my drip tip.

I don't know what's best. But my eGo is doing the job stock right out of the box... I'm using the type A mega (cone) attys and carts.

I too came over from a KR808. I like them, they're good to start on, but after I was allowed to borrow and eGo for 1 night, I got hooked.
I drip my eGo most of the time. I get tons of vapor and the flavor is so much stronger!
I also like the cartomizers, work just like the kr808's but hold more juice. They seem to fit better without the cone.
The basic cartridges left a lot to be desired for me. Too much refilling for me.

I am using cartos with 1,000 mah bats and that fancy new pcc so I have 10 ml of juice on hand as well. I feel more like I am packing a vape survival kit then an e-cig!
