I'm not too far removed from Megan's vocation: I'm a painter (artist) - what wasn't taken seriously by my parents as a 'career' back in the mid 60's came full circle when I picked my brushes up again in the mid 80's, and 25 years ago became a professional artist. I've loved every minute of it since.
This is an interview done last year: http://www.jacksonsart.com/blog/201...ck-master-of-traditional-still-life-painting/

Travis inhabits the world I worked in as company buyer until I left in '89.

i am in awe of your talent :)

Wow Pictor! Your work is incredibly life like! I could only be so lucky to have access to such beautiful product to work with!! Fantastic Lady!

If it's not too forward, may I say you have lovely Butter curls! ;)

Pictor,

Wow. Just wow. I love how you "reflect" in your paintings off of metal. So so cool. It's like magic with your hands.

Haha, I noticed the butter curls, too! My Granny used to make them to put on our blueberry muffins at my tea parties when I was a little girl. That automatically caught my eye. I thought that was just something Granny made up.

I just shoot what looks good or right to me, glad you like how my eyes see things!
Love your landscapes! :) Wish you were closer - you could take shots of my work & s/l set-ups ..it's the part I don't love!

Dani and nugget, I liked both of your posts...not because of what you both went through, rather how well you're both emerging out of the other side of it!!!
What beautiful and inspiring stories from you both!!!!:thumbs:
Congrats on beating it to you both!!! :)
Agreed! Well done both of you :)

The "Muffins, Butter & Spiced Sugar" made me want (and smell) fresh baked bread. Very impressive, beautiful work!
Thanks! I enjoyed working on that a lot!
Almost forgot... I herd cats (aka restaurant mgmt)

i am in awe of your talent :)
Thank you so much! :)

My butter curls and I thank you kindly - first time I painted muffins or butter curls! I reckon a chef is a sort of artist anyway! :)

Thanks Dani - glass and silver were one of the last type of container that challenged me ...it takes a bit of backwards thinking even when I do take set-up shots!

It used to be quite the thing to be artistic with things like butter, especially on Georgian tables! 17thc was a sort of theme with last years work.
