Looks like I need to find a new day job.
They decided to give us 10 hours the entire week of Christmas and I'm one of the lucky ones that don't get to work at all New Year's week.
Kill me. :cry:

I'm sorry! I'm kinda in the same boat as you. The plant is closed from 12-24 to 1-5. I have 4 paid holidays in that time. That will leave me with 8 days with no pay plus by going to days I lose a dollar an hour shift differential but I keep telling myself that all things will work out.:(

I actually had one of those for a while. Those things are monsters! Sure got everyone's attention at the outdoor range when I fired it. It wasn't allowed at the indoor range.:D

There are single shot pistols that fire a .50 rifle round. Inaccurate as hell but the sheer sound will make you crap yourself.

The Desert Eagle isn't a single shot. It takes two slide springs to handle the reload mechanism. A 45 just uses one spring, and a 45 ain't no pea shooter. Yeah the 50 sounds like a dang cannon. :D

I work for Georgia Pacific's Brunswick Cellulose mill. Not the best smelling place to work, and with 12hr swing shifts it's not the best hours, but I make a good living, and if I don't get scheduled for any overtime, I only have to work 15 days a month, which leaves me a good amount of time to spend with the family and pursue other interests. Our mill takes pine trees, and turns them into the fibers that make toilet paper, baby diapers, various filters,etc.... We don't produce any end products at our facility. We just make the cellulose also known as "Fluff Pulp". Company owns most of the forest land and does replant once the trees are harvested

I've had some request like that.. Scary huh.

Good Lord! :blink:

Isn't that a 50 caliber rifle round?

Not even close! ;) See below....:D

Yeah I am guessing that's what it is, those things look like little ICBM's. :D

Compared to the 12ga shell, that's waaaaaay bigger than 50 cal. It's closer to a 120mm round, like they fire from tanks. Armor piercing from the looks of it.

The 50BMG is ~5.45 inches long....this beast is 11.5!
VERY CLOSE!!! It's a 30MM that the A10-Warthog fires at a REDICULOUS 4200 rounds/min...YES...70/SECOND!!! :shock: Depleted Uranium Tip...IT MELTS tanks!!!!! :headbang::thumbs::evil:
The gun (GAU-8/A) was designed and built...19.5 feet long.....THEN, the plane was built around it! :D

Good luck in holding on the that one! :?:

:lol::lol:

Recoiless?

Not quite...the lane loses airspeed when firing it!!! :shock::headbang:

Even at that with a round that big, I dunno. I'll stick to my 40 cal HK's and Glock's which are quite capable of inflicting plenty of damage. But then there is always the pterodactyl. Desert Eagle 50.

Yes....along with EVERYONE else on range!! ;)

That's just WICKED!

Good Lord!!!!
That's a single shot cuz after you fire it you have to go pick up the gun about 50ft behind you. Didn't know you were talking about 50 BMG

No DOUBT!

Is there enough room in the boat for me? I had back surgery Nov. 14th and probably won't go back to work until the first of the year. I thank God every day that at least I get two-thirds of my pay but it's going to be tight through Christmas. We will survive ladies! I don't know about y'all but I've been through worse.

Me too Lynn! Last year this time I had just left an $8.00 an hour job plus I was on public assistance. At least this year I'm making a bit more and have benefits and am getting paid holidays. :)
